Invitation Dear Entrepreneur to North Vietnam Credit Suisse is pleased to invite you to join our next Entrepreneurs’ Fact Finding Mission to Asia, an event that has been highly appreciated by our clients and partners and South China ever since its launch in 2004. We will be spending roughly ten days in North Vietnam and South China visiting a number of key economic, business and cultural centers. The mission will feature meetings with leading entrepreneurs, business associations as well as government agencies and representatives. In doing so, we aim to provide you with advanced insight, unique networking platforms and selected business opportunities while facilitating and understanding local cultural traditions and social conditions from which these opportunities evolve. Vietnam's economic growth over the past 30 years is remarkable. Economic and political reforms under Doi Moi, launched in 1986, have spurred rapid development and transformed Vietnam from one of the world’s poorest nations to a lower middle-income country. Vietnam’s GDP growth surged to a ten-year high of 6.8% in 2017. It’s one of Asia’s fastest growing economies and growth is predicted to stay strong in 2018–22 as Vietnam remains an investment hotspot. Since initiating market reforms in 1978, China has shifted from a centrally planned to a market based economy and has experienced rapid economic and social development. GDP growth has averaged at nearly 10% a year – the fastest sustained expansion by a major economy in history – and has lifted more than 800mn people out of poverty. 2018 marks the 10th anniversary of the global financial crisis, as well as the first year of China’s new administration following the 19th CPC National Congress. Both China and the world economy will enter a new period and new phase of development. At this historical point in time, we are beginning to see the first outlines of China’s “new economic cycle” and the “new paradigm of globalization”. After a decade of sustained decline in global trade and investment, Chinese and foreign companies are now seeing some reasons for being hopeful of an upswing on the horizon. Although China’s GDP growth has slowed, it has still an impressive growth rate of 6.8% in 2017. If you would like to join, please return the completed registration form and a copy of your valid passport to Julian Hosung by Friday, August 3, 2018 at the latest. All relevant details about this fact-finding mission and the registration form can be obtained from the Credit Suisse website at http://www.credit-suisse.com/entrepreneurtrip. We would be delighted to have you join us on a genuinely exciting journey to two of Asia’s fascinating economies. We look forward to welcoming you to the fourteenth Entrepreneurs’ Fact Finding Mission to Asia. Yours sincerely Andreas Gerber Dr. Urs Buchmann Head SME Business Switzerland Vice-Chairman Greater China 2 2018 Credit Suisse Entrepreneurs’ Fact Finding Mission 2018 Credit Suisse Entrepreneurs’ Fact Finding Mission 3
