PENTANGLE ARTS Enriching Our Community Through The Arts Pentangle Arts has been at the heart of a thriving arts and cultural sector in the Woodstock, Vermont area since 1974. Its mission is to facilitate and present arts programming that inspires, educates, and entertains audiences of all ages. Pentangle cultivates an appreciation of the arts and the artistic process through Arts in Education programs, live musical theater, feature films, concerts, and visual art festivals. Pentangle also supports the area’s commercial and cultural vitality by presenting events and productions that attract visitors and residents who shop, dine and stay in the area. In addition, Pentangle Arts manages the iconic Woodstock Town Hall Theatre, the town’s primary community and gathering space. It is a place where local schoolchildren have seen and participated in their first live productions; where local musicians, comedians, and actors have tested and refined new material; and where audiences of all ages have enjoyed feature films on the largest screen in the area for over 70 years. The theatre is also a place where local amateur actors perform, dance, and sing alongside veterans of Broadway and other professional stages. PentangleArts.org (802) 457-3981

BROWN BAG CONCERT SERIES July - August 2019 Woodstock History Center Back Lawn FRIDAYS Woodstock-area residents and visitors have been enjoying Pentangle’s Brown Bag concert series for 38 years. The Brown Bag Concert Series has been one of 6:00 pm Pentangle’s most beloved and highly visible summer events, with free outdoor concerts offered FREE from late June through August. This year’s series features an eclectic mix of artists spanning from American Folk to African Funk. The concerts draw a large and lively multi-generational audience who come with their blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the music, dance with their children, and picnic with their friends and neighbors. A major part of the Brown Bag concert series is Pentangle’s partnership with the Woodstock Community Food Shelf in fighting hunger in our community. We encourage patrons to take a bag from each concert and return the following week with a shopping bag full of non-perishable items.
YOUTH THEATER ENRICHMENT PROGRAM AGES 9 - 17 Rehearsals: February 25th - April 11th Performance: April 12th, 2018 Pentangle is proud to announce our first spring musical featuring young thespians from the Ottauquechee region. Our young actors will spend 7 weeks learning about theater production from set, lighting and sound design to performing onstage. Our inaugural production will be Annie Jr., a shortened version of the original Tony Award-winning musical. With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone’s hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. Annie is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of an orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. Annie eventually finds a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy. The production will be directed by local educators Sharon Groblicki and Nancy Boymer. For over 10 years, both Sharon and Nancy have co-directed Pentangle’s annual Summer Stock Theater Camp. Sharon Groblicki had a vibrant career as a professional actress in New York City, working with Bernadette Peters and Scott McKenzie and acted in the sixties theatrical comedy The Knack. She directed Pentangle’s Production of Joseph and Amazing Technicolor® Dreamcoat. She is the Performing Arts instructor at the Barnard Academy where she teaches music and theatre to children.
