The Open Grade is open to all competitors, Men, Ladies, & Junior/Youth There will be a possibility for separate divisions, provided there are enough entries to support this 2. Qualifying Squads Each qualifying squad will consist of 3 games on the same pair of lanes and 3 bowlers per pair maximum. No lane changes will occur during qualifying squads unless there are unforeseen technical difficulties. Lane assignments will be drawn randomly at check-in. Multiple entries will be accepted. The cost of each qualifying squad (3 games) is $45.00 plus $10.00 registration fee to be paid on top of your first qualifying attempt. Bowlers will be required to check in 30 minutes before the scheduled bowl time of each qualifying event, as per the Indicative Schedule of Events. Payment must be made prior to check-in. A total of 8 qualifying squads will be held over Friday 6th & Sunday 8th March 2014. Squads 1 & 2, i.e. ‘Early bird squads’, will be held the evening of Friday 6th March. The Tournament Director may cancel these 2 ‘Early bird squads’ if there is lack of interest. There will be a ‘Last chance squad’ at 9:00am on Sunday 8th March. This squad is available to all competitors however can only be entered in person on the day. A bowler’s 2 best qualifying attempts total will be their total qualifying score. 3. The Open Eliminator Final Format The Final will include the Top 16 bowlers after each bowler’s top 6 games from qualifying are totaled. A bowler’s top 6 games must consist of 2 blocks of qualifying scores – if a bowler chooses to bowl more than 2 qualifying squads, then they will drop their lowest 3 game series. The cost of the final is $55.00. All finalists must be checked in and have paid for the Final by 12 noon. The first round will consist of the top 16 bowlers bowling 2 games on the same pair. The top 14 bowlers with the highest pin fall following the first 2 games will continue to round 2, and the 2 bowlers with lowest pin fall will be eliminated. All bowlers will return to zero pin fall and commence Round 2 (i.e. pin fall does not carry over to the next round or to any round in the final). The Tournament Director will advise lane allocations ensuring that no bowler is on the same pair of lanes as the previous game, and Round 2 will commence. Each remaining finalist will bowl 1 further game and the lowest 2 finalists will be eliminated. This process will continue until the Open Eliminator Winner is determined. A 2-ball warm up will be granted at the discretion of the Tournament Director at the commencement of any round of the final if the lane assignments between rounds are deemed to be taking longer than expected. 4.
