Getting in UTS Early Entry Program Designed for high-achieving school students, the UTS Early Entry Program lets you secure a place in your preferred UTS degree before you’ve even finished high school. Getting in Admission pathways Didn’t get the selection rank you were hoping for? Admission pathways are another way to get into your chosen degree. Choose from UTS options or enrol in TAFE courses, diplomas and other formal qualifications that can get you where you want to go. UTS PATHWAYS Enrol in a similar UTS course with a lower selection rank, study for a year full time* and re-apply via UAC for UTS another shot at your dream degree. You’ll be assessed on your highest qualification rank, which takes into undergraduate consideration your ATAR as well as any other studies you’ve completed. You may also be eligible for recognition of degrees prior learning for some UTS subjects. Diplomas are designed in collaboration with UTS and deliver the same educational benefits as completing your first year of undergraduate study. Jumbunna Unistart is a unique 12-month program for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students that will give you the confidence to make your mark at UTS. You’ll gain fundamental skills in academic writing, UTS Jumbunna mathematics and selected subjects from your chosen degree, and progress straight into undergraduate studies Unistart at UTS once you’ve completed the program. What’s more, you’ll also get recognition of prior learning for the subjects you’ve already done. U@Uni Academy is a two-year program for senior high school students who attend one of our U@Uni partner schools^. Beginning at the end of Year 10, the Academy introduces you to the UTS experience and connects U@Uni Academy you to tutoring and additional support services that will prepare you to succeed at uni and beyond. Once you’ve successfully completed the program, you’ll be offered a place in your chosen UTS course. EXTERNAL PATHWAYS Completing an Australian Qualifications Framework Diploma at TAFE or a private college can prepare you to re- TAFE or private apply to your preferred UTS degree. In some cases, you may be able to choose a graded diploma (where you get college diploma grades for individual subjects) instead of a competency-based diploma (where you either pass or fail). This will make your application more competitive for UTS courses with higher selection ranks. Tertiary Tertiary preparation certificates (TPCs) and foundation studies programs can help you re-apply to UTS – when preparation you complete one of these courses, your results will be converted into a qualification rank that strengthens your and foundation UAC application. UTS will consider a NSW TAFE TPC and other completed tertiary preparation courses from an studies Australian institution for admission to almost all UTS degrees. The STAT test is a multiple-choice ATAR alternative that’s accepted for admission to many UTS courses. The STAT test requirements? You’ll need to have turned 20 by March 2023 and have obtained your STAT results within the three years prior to the year you’re planning to start your degree. A Limited ATAR is calculated using the results from your best five HSC units, rather than the 10 required for a standard ATAR. UTS accepts Limited ATARs for all undergraduate courses except scholarship and accelerated Limited ATAR nursing courses.
