A Family Perspective: Parenting is a lot like the story of the farmer in the Gospel parable today. All growth is the Lord’s work. We have no control over the process. In fact, the farmer doesn’t even understand it, for the seed grows even when he sleeps. As parents, we can influence our children but nothing we do can guarantee results. Welcome Home! Please feel free to wander through the Friendship Room during the Feast Day festival. We’ll have a display of the portraits of the priests, a slide show celebrating Fr. Bishop, and a display with information about our participation in the 2021 Habitat for Humanity Why do we pin money on a statue of St. Anthony? FaithBuild. Order of Worship for June 13, 2021 Welcome ! Entrance Hymn: The God of All Grace (R. Manalo) The God of all grace has blessed us this day, all of creation joins us in praise; lifting our voices, lifting our hearts to the glory of God forever! 1. God of power and might, come into our presence this day. Strengthen us now with a spirit of faith; we gather in your name. (Refrain) 2. God of mercy and truth, who brings us from night into day, nourish our lives with a spirit of hope and shield us from all fear. (Refrain) 3. God of wondrous love, compassion and glory are yours. Come fill our hearts with a spirit of love: the joy we find in you. (Refrain) 4. All the gifts of the Lord shall flow from the glory of God. Let us proclaim all the wonders we’ve seen: give thanks, rejoice and sing! Responsorial Psalm: (Ps. 89:2-3, 4-5, 21-22, 25 and 27) Forever I will sing the goodness of the Lord. Second Reading: A reading from the Letter of Saint Paul to the Ephesians (Ef 4, 1-7, 11-13) Brothers and sisters: I a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to live in a manner worthy of the call you have received, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another through
love, striving to preserve the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace: one Body and one Spirit, as you were also called to the one hope of your call; one Lrd, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. But grace was given to each of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift. And he gave some as Apostles, others as prophets, others as evangelists, others as pastors and teachers, to equip the holy ones for the work of ministry, for building up the Body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the extent of the full stature of Christ. The word of the Lord. A reading from the holy Gospel according to Luke (10:1-9) The Lord Jesus appointed seventy-two other disciples whom he sent ahead of him in pairs to every town and place he intended to visit. He said to them, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest. Go on your way; behold, I am sending you like lambs among wolves. Carry no money bag, no sack, no sandals; and greet no one along the way. Into whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this household.’ If a peaceful person lives there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you. Stay in the same house and eat and drink what is offered to you, for the laborer deserves his payment. Do not move about from one house to another. Whatever town you enter and they welcome you, eat what is set before you, cure the sick in it and say to them, ‘The Kingdom of God is at hand for you.’” Homily Profession of Faith: Nicene Creed I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins, and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. Prayers of the Faithful:
- Liturgy of the Eucharist - Offertory Procession: Those who have celebrated Sacraments. Gather in Your Name (L. True) When two or more gather in your name, and see your presence in each face, we treasure the gift of this sacred meal, blessed and poured out for all in this place. 1. Bread, the gift of your body. Wine, your life blood out poured. Come, join the feast! Take and be- lieve! Become what you receive! (Refrain) 2. Bread, our light and our life. Wine, our truth and our way. Come join the feast! Take and believe! Become what you receive! (Refrain) 3. Bread, your manna from heaven. Wine, the fruit of your heart. Come join the feast! Take and be- lieve! Become what you receive! Schutte) Gathered ‘round this table for the supper of the Lord. Christ himself becomes our food; in him our life restored. Here he stands before us as the first-born from the dead. Now our eyes are opened in the breaking of the bread. 1. I am the vine and you are the branches. You will know great abundance when you live in my love. (Refrain) 2. I will be there when two or three have gathered. And the Father will hear you when you pray in my name. (Refrain) 3. I am the bread that came down from heaven. If you eat of my body you will share in my life. 1. Thine aid canst thou refuse us with Jesus in thy arms. And all thy love o’er flowing upon His Infant charms. (Refrain) 2. St. Anthony, Oh! Teach us, thy ardent zeal and love, that raise the heart’s affections all earthly things above. (Refrain)

We’re fortunate that we get to honor him today in his 51st year as a priest in the Diocese of Youngstown. May God continue to bless him and his ministry. We also recognize Jimmy and Pam DiMarzio, who commissioned the beautiful portrait you see here. It is stunning, and we’re thrilled to display it. Dear Lord Jesus, We are grateful for the many blessings of this good man who brings us Your holy sacraments of salvation. We pray that You continue to care for him in his loneliness, comfort him in his sorrows, strengthen him in his frustrations, and show him that he is needed by the Church, he is needed by souls, he is needed for the work of redemption. O loving Mother Mary, Mother of Priests, take to your heart your son who is close to you because of his priestly ordination, and because of the power which he has received to carry on the work of Christ in a world which needs him so much. Be his comfort, be his joy, be his strength. Amen
