Group Time After morning tea the Zebras were instructed to grab a single mat and go and sit down ready for group time. Miss Hayley began with marking the roll, she called out their names one by one waiting for them to respond. We have been encouraging the children to recognise their name and respond to let Miss Hayley know they are ready and listening. We sung along to our good morning sing as we do every morning, the children turned and shook their friends hands to say good morning. The book we have chosen for this week is Wombat Stew, a book about a dingo who wants to eat a wombat but all of the animals help and make sure he doesn't. The children enjoyed listening to the book and pointing out all of the different Australian animals they could find. We finished off group time with some stretches to get us all warmed up for our Yoga session. Written by Miss Tayla
Yoga Session The Elephants joined us aging this morning for another weekly Yoga session, we have done these the last couple of Mondays. We began with putting our hand together in front of our chest and humming softly to calm down. We then sand and moved along to a song that started out slow and got faster in the end. Next we stood up and did some poses, one of our favourites was the rainbow pose where we had to stretch our arm our really far and move it above our head just like a rainbow. We also did a tree pose where we started down low with our arms out and slowly moved upwards until we were standing up nice and tall just like a tree. We finished off our session with a book about how its good to breath in through your nose and out through your mouth to keep calm. Written by Miss Tayla
Obstacle Course This morning I set up a challenging obstacle course for the children to develop their gross motor skills. Israel and Edison took the initiative of trying to complete the obstacle course on their own. Han Han used her balancing skills to walk across the plank to make it to the other side of the A frame. Chris attempted the obstacle course after observing Israel and Edison having fun and completing the obstacle course. “Did it” said Chris as he made it to the end of the obstacle course. Blade was quite happy to use his leg mus- cles to jump off the plank and land onto the ground without any help. Written by Miss Hayley
