Parent/Covid Managers • At least one Parent/Covid Manager will be assigned to each Wellesley WPL Club team. This is now required, by MYSA, to have a ‘Covid manager’. If you are interested in becoming a team/covid manager please contact Lewis at premierleague@wellesleysoccer.org The Team/Covid Manager will perform some of the following duBes: • Keep track of players availability for pracBce and games using the Team Snap app. • Ensure the Covid policies from the club are being adhered to by all. (masks, saniBzer, social distancing). • Ensure spectators are socially distanced and wearing masks at all games. • Communicate field changes or pracBce cancellaBons

CCL NE Overview • The NSL League has merged with the Club Champions League New England (CCL NE). This provides an exciBng opportunity for top teams to compete at a NaBonal level. • CCL New England is a conference of the Club Champions League which has leagues in Virginia, Maryland, Washington and New England • NaBonal Pathway through league play for U13 and up. • Direct qualificaBon to the USYS Eastern Regional Championships via the League Championship Playoff CCL New England age group champions (both Club-‐to-‐club and Team-‐based) qualify to the CCL New England League Championship • Playoff Winners advance to USYS League Championship Playoff versus CCL, Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL) or the NaBonal Capital Soccer League (NCSL)
Club Passes • Players can be invited to play on other WPL Club team by using the NE CCL club pass. • Players will be chosen to play for other Wellesley teams based on their ability and their effort in pracBce sessions and games. • Tournament passes can be given out to Wellesley players from other Clubs to compete for Wellesley in any given tournaments.
Team Snap App We will be using the TeamSnap app this season to organize all of our teams pracBces and games. It’s a great way to keep updates on who is going to be available for pracBce and games each week and to send updates on anything game/pracBce related. Please note that as part of our COVID protocols, parents will be required (track and trace) to use TeamSnap to let the club know which events (pracMces and games) your children will be aNending. If players do not respond via TeamSnap, they will not be allowed to pracMce or play games.
Parent ResponsibiliBes • Parents to refrain from side line coaching of all players, including their own, while supporBng the team in a posiBve and enthusiasBc manner • Parents to be respeciul of the Zero Tolerance Referee Policy • 24 hour rule: Parents are banned from discussing a game, a play or any feedback on game or training days • Parents to ensure players have all the required training alre • Parents to inform the coach with at least a two-‐day noBce if they cannot amend training or a game on the team snap-‐app.
Player ResponsibiliBes • Players to be respeciul to the coach and teammates at all Bmes • Players amendance to be a minimum of 75% of games and training • Players to come focused to both games and training • Players to come in WPL Club alre to both games and training
Coach ResponsibiliBes • Coach to be approachable and personable to all players and parents • Coach to look and act professional at all Bmes during training and games • Coach to be punctual, organized and prepared for each training session and game • Coach to communicate directly to the players/parents 48 hours aper each game during the season • Coach to always put the development of the player ahead of the score line and team record
Equal Playing Time • Playing Bme will be at the discreBon of each coach based on the players commitment, performance, altude and effort • The club does not guarantee equal playing Bme
Risk Level of Sport As we move forward, we would like to make sure our players and families understand the COVID-‐19 reopening approach as it pertains to the “Risk Level of Sports” categorized by the state. MA youth sports are now classified into three categories based on the risk of transmission of COVID during the sport as tradiBonally played: • -‐Lower Risk (i.e. golf and tennis) • -‐Moderate Risk (i.e. soccer and baseball) • -‐Higher Risk (i.e. football) The state also provides regular guidance on the type of play each sport may parBcipate in from least risk to greatest risk: • Level 1 Individual or socially distanced group training • Level 2 CompeMMve PracMces (group games, drills and scrimmages) • Level 3 CompeMMons (games) • Level 4 Tournaments Soccer (moderate risk sport) is currently in the Level 3 phase (compeBBon/game play permimed).
Return to soccer guidelines • Most up to date guidelines can be found on the MYSA website hmps://www.mayouthsoccer.org/return-‐to-‐soccer-‐acBviBes/ • COVID rules and guidelines that have been shared by the state and the club remain in effect for all players and families throughout these sessions. • Every player will need to bring their own mask (neck gaiters are not permiNed), ball, water and hand saniBzer to each session • Players must wear a mask throughout the session • There will be cones on the floor 6p apart from each other on arrival for each player to wait at • If your child is feeling unwell please keep them home • Parents are to self-‐cerBfy that their child is illness free. • If your child’s temperature is over 100.4 the child should not amend the session.
Spectator Requirements • The league is required to stagger games to allow teams and spectators to exit and enter field space without encountering previous or subsequent teams. ParBcipants are required to leave the field (including the parking areas) immediately aper games. Spectators arriving early should wait in their car unBl the field is clear. • MYSA guidelines limit 1 spectator per player. If there are too many spectators at any given Bme, play will be halted unBl the numbers work. • All spectators must adhere to the current social distancing protocol – 6p apart, face masks to be worn. • Spectators must park in the designated areas for the field of play.
Game ModificaBons In order for WPL Club to play our league season, we are REQUIRED to make the following temporary changes to the laws of the game. • Heading – All intenBonal heading of the soccer ball is suspended for all ages. • Shoulder to shoulder contact – suspended or any other intenBonal physical contact is to be considered a violaBon of Law 12 -‐ playing in a dangerous manner. Indirect free kick restart or other applicable foul or misconduct based on the referee’s interpretaBon. • Slide tackling – suspended for all ages. • Throws in’s – replaced by kick in’s. • Corner kicks – replaced by a corner kick in. The ball may not be kicked directly into the opponent’s penalty box. Opponents must remain 10 yards (8 yards for small sided) from the corner unBl the ball is in play. • The use of defensive walls is currently suspended. • The use of a drop ball to restart a game is suspended. An indirect free kick will be awarded to the team the referee deemed in possession when the game was stopped.
