WORD Missions WITH PS LAM SIONG YENG Reset ACTS 1:1-11
BACK IN 2010
MATTHEW 28:18-20 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Have we latched onto
the ‘wrong’ verb?
Or given it our preferred
interpretation?
MATTHEW 28:19-20
In this passage, we are told to do 3 things:
• To make disciples (people need to
become committed to Jesus Christ)
• To mark disciples (baptising them)
• To mature disciples (helping them
to grow in wisdom and faith)

RESET • to move (something) back to an original place or position • to put (a broken bone) back in the correct position for healing • to put (a gem) into a new piece of jewelry
ACTS 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
ALL MUST "GO" ALL HAVE SOMEONE TO REACH FOR CHRIST. ALL CAN LIVE BY FAITH.
What is GOD doing through the Coronavirus? (John Piper) LOOSENING ROOTS TO REACH THE NATIONS In the coronavirus God is loosening the roots of settled Christians, all over the world, to make them free for something new and radical and to send them with the gospel of Christ to the unreached peoples of the world. Connecting the coronavirus with missions may seem like a strange idea, because in the short run, the coronavirus is shutting down travel and migration and missionary advance. But I am not thinking short term. God has used the suffering and upheaval of history to move his church to places it needs to go. I am suggesting that he will do that again as part of the long-term impact of the coronavirus. (Coronavirus & Christ by John Piper, 2020)
