GENERAL OVERSEER’S FORWORD

Blessed be the Lord God Almighty for His gracious provisions in our lives. As individuals, as
families and as a church organization, we have surely experienced manifold blessings of God.
To Him alone be all the glory, honour, praise, power, dominion and majesty, now and
forevermore. The year 2020 has been eventful. I indeed appreciate the testimonies of Divine
All-Round Sufficiency which God has given to us in various ways, in different dimensions and
at varying levels.

As we round off the year 2020 and going into the New Year 2021, I am persuaded of great and
mighty things which the Lord God will do in our midst. Praise the Lord!

God led Joshua to tell the children of Israel; “Sanctify yourselves: for tomorrow the Lord will
do wonders among you” (Joshua 3:5). Spiritual preparation always precedes the release of
spiritual and supernatural blessings.

As individuals, as families, as a church and as a nation, I believe that we have great expectations
and the word of God assures us that our expectation shall not be cut off or disappointed
(Proverbs 24:14). In order for this to happen, prayer is important. Through prayer we invoke
heaven’s presence - opening the door to God who answers prayers to act on our behalf - Psalm
65:2.

As we begin this 40-day prayer and fasting session (December 23, 2020 to January 31, 2021),
I urge us individually and corporately to be committed to it. It promises to be a unique
experience for as many as are committed to it.

Note that this prayer booklet is a compilation of prayers from the National, Children Ministry
and the Global Foursquare Church. We will join the Global Foursquare Family in 21 Days of
Fasting and Prayers which will run concurrently from January 1, 2021.

Beloved brethren and people of God, we must all be determined to pray - unceasing,
unwavering, consistent, earnest and effectual prayer of the righteous that avail much (James
5:16).

All our local churches, zones, districts, axes and regions are expected to purposely use this
prayer guide which has been carefully and painstakingly prepared by our National Prayer
Ministry and ensure there are prayer vigils on Fridays throughout the period.

You are also at liberty to incorporate other prayer inputs from the local church. Let us ensure
that no one is left out of this prayer arrangement. May the good Lord reward our participation
as we do it in the spirit of love, obedience, cooperation, unity and oneness in Jesus name.

I appreciate our Prayer Ministry led by Rev. Jonathan Fatoye for their efforts in its production.

Please note that those above 70 years of age, those who are pregnant and those on medication
are required to be sensitive to their body needs.

THE NATIONAL PRAYER COORDINATOR’S REMARKS

    “So we fasted and prayed about these concerns. And He listened.” Ezra 8:23 (Msg).

Beloved brethren, I warmly welcome us to another refreshing time with our great God. We
thank God for the opportunity to carry out the divinely ordained spiritual exercise of Prayer
and Fasting as an Organization for 40 (forty) days. This period calls for sober reflection, offer
of prayers of appreciation, supplication, intercession and intervention as it is our culture at the
beginning of every year. Testimonies abound of the mercies of God, great deliverance and
answers to prayers arising from this season of waiting on the Lord. This should serve as a
motivation for us to continue to seek God’s face.

I am directed by our Father in the Lord, The General Overseer of Foursquare Gospel Church
in Nigeria, Rev. Sam Aboyeji that we should observe vigil in all our churches every Friday and
go to our various churches for prayers in the evening to pray and break our fast together. Also,
third Friday is for workers vigil and meetings to deliberate on the work of the kingdom
business.

I therefore charge us to prepare for a serious season of prayers. We must lay aside all forms of
discouragement and be focused on reaching God’s mercy seat with our effectual prayers as we
gather in all our churches to pray together.

Beloved, it is time to seek God’s face and I trust that the God of all grace will grant us the
strength, enablement, encouragement, and sound health to be unwavering in the place of prayer
for these 40 (forty) days.

LORD, DADDY G.O., IS A GREAT WAY TO KICK-START OUR DECADE OF

PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING & PRAISES - Psalm 100:1-5
1. Praise and thank God for who He is and for answers to all our prayers in the year 2020.
2. Thank God for seeing us through with 9 days remaining in the year 2020.
3. Give thanks unto God for the prophetic theme of the year 2020 - our Year of DIVINE ALL-ROUND
   SUFFIENCY (2 Cor.3:5, 9:8).
4. Thank God for His protection, provision and preservation of our lives during the year 2020 despite
   COVID-19 pandemic.

    all nooks and crannies of our nation.
4. Sing praises to God, sing praises (Ps.47:6) for the great things He will do in this DECADE OF
    SOARING.
5. Thank God because Foursquare will fulfill the “Decade of SOARING” (Spreading Out and
    Reaching In Next Generation). Halleluyah!!
6. Thank God that TODAY being CHRISTMAS DAY, the purpose of the birth of Jesus as Saviour of

1. Thank God that the Decade of SOARING will conscientiously focus on the expansion of reaching
   out for souls.
2. Thank God for the Riverine Hinterland Churches Enlargement Scheme (RHCHES) targeted at
   reaching residents of riverine and hinterland areas all over Nigeria.
3. Thank God for the Grand Assembly effort of planting 60 Grand Assembly all over the nation to
   take care of our teaming population of young people.
4. Thank God for Campus Encounters.
5. Praise God for the Discipleship and Leadership Development (DLD) and Ministers’ Welfare,
   Renewal and Development (MIWERED).
6. Praise God for Youth Encounter and Empowerment Summit (YEES), Online TEE/CCM program
   for the young ones on campus, Young Ministers Form (YMF) and commencement of Grand
   Assembly/Youth Services, Teens and Children Chapels in all our churches.

3. Pray for God’s wisdom for the General Overseer to lead the organization to HIGHER GROUNDS
   IN THIS DECADE OF SOARING.
4. Pray that God’s rich grace and strength will be renewed upon him on a daily basis.
5. Pray for divine utterance as he ministers.

1. Let us thank God for His mercies and move in our nation Nigeria despite COVID-19 Pandemic,
   EndSARS Protests, etc. experienced during this year 2020.
2. Let’s plead with the Lord to show us mercy over our numerous sins as a nation - idolatry, shedding
   of innocent blood, bribery and corruption, immoralities, etc. Have mercy on us, Oh Lord.
3. OH LORD, THANK YOU FOR SPARING OUR NATION.
4. Let’s bring genuine and sincere repentance like Daniel did before the Lord and say “we have sinned,
   and have committed iniquity and have done wickedly…” (Dan. 9:5). Oh Lord, FORGIVE US.
5. Oh Lord, arise and let the enemies of the progress and peace of Nigeria scatter in Jesus name.
6. Oh Lord, let violence, insurgencies, armed robberies, kidnappings, ritual killings, etc cease in
   Nigeria in Jesus name.
7. Oh Lord, Nigeria shall fulfill her prophetic destiny of carrying the gospel to other nations of the
