Winter-Spring 2019 Dear Azusans, It’s my pleasure to welcome you to this special edition of the Azusa Recreation and Family Services Activity Guide. Cities like Azusa are going to be the models that will show that open government, community policing, smart growth, affordable and dependable utilities, fiscal responsibility and committed residents can work toward one common goal. Our everyday challenge is to produce results that make the lives of our residents better. Located just east of Pasadena, California, Azusa is a California community that is undergoing tremendous growth. The city is currently experiencing a renaissance, which will include 1,250 new homes, new shops, mass transit, restaurants, and a walkable residential community. Azusa residents also enjoy incredible recreational opportunities such as hiking, biking, fishing, and Off- Roading in the San Gabriel Mountains, the San Gabriel River, and an impressive municipal parks and recreation system. The City of Azusa Parks Division maintains acres of pristine parkland for youth and adults, and offers numerous city sport leagues, after-school programs for children and an outstanding nutrition and enrichment program for older adults as well. The city also hosts exciting Special Events such as Concerts in the Park series, held every summer at beautiful Memorial Park, while continuing to aspire to “Creating a Lifetime of Memories for the Entire Family”. This is why I always say, Azusa is a great place to live, work, and play. Sincerely, Joseph R. Rocha Mayor “Creating a Lifetime of Memories for the Entire Family” All dates, times or prices subject to change. Winter-Spring 2019 CITY OF AZUSA 1
