MARTIAL ARTS MANNERS The Do-Jhang(studio) is a place to learn and practice Martial Arts. While in the Do-Jhang, students must follow basic rules. These rules are enforced to maximize the effectiveness of the training environment and to place emphasis on the development of the students’ mind and body. - Students and instructors will face the flags and place their right hand on their chest over their heart each time they enter or leave the classroom areas to demonstrate respect to the instructors and fellow students. - If students are late for class they should ask permission to enter class. Permission must be obtained to leave the class for any reason. - Students, siblings or friends should not play with the equipment or on the mat without permission from the instructors. - Students will turn away from their instructor and flags when adjusting their uniform or belt. - Students avoid unnecessary conversation in the class. - A clean uniform is imperative in each class. This is a reflection of the student’s pride. Students should help to keep the Do-Jhang neat and clean. - No watches, rings or jewelry of any kind may be worn during class. - Students who will have an extended absence, 7 or more days, from training need to notify the office as a matter of courtesy. - When waiting for class, students must sit quietly along the side of the mat. - Students must conduct themselves in a PROPER MANNER at all times, maintain a POSITIVE ATTITUDE and always set a GOOD EXAMPLE. - Since our professional master instructors focus on instruction, once the first class starts, Masters are not allowed to talk with parents. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact office to address your matter. It is expected that all students will be dedicated, disciplined and actively involved in the promotion of Martial Arts and will preserve order in the Do- Jhang. The techniques you learn are not to be applied outside the Do-Jhang unless circumstances involving your safety or the safety of others are overriding!!!
