Below you will find everything you need to join this year’s edition. Over the next four months, the App Challenge 2.0 aims to empower app developers to focus their creative and technical efforts on critical security or safety problem areas. This year, we encourage all developer partners to focus on the verticals of Retail, Transportation, Stadiums/Entertainment and Healthcare to deliver highly innovative app solutions for our industry. How it works: • To participate please describe your app solution in the submission form solving one of the proposed use cases (see below) starting from 23rd March • You can submit multiple proposals if you want to participate in more than one vertical by filling our separate forms for each proposal by latest 26th April 2021 • All proposals will be reviewed after the submission phase and the most promising proposals will be picked by the Jury to proceed with the development starting from 29th April 2021 • Please note the following (legal) requirements to participate in the App Challenge 2.0: • Make sure you have signed up to our Developer Portal by latest 26th April 2021 • You need to have a legal entity (incl. valid VAT no.) in one of our supported countries (Section “Selling an application”) • After the development period, the App needs to be uploaded on the S&ST Application Store by 31st July 2021 to be eligible for final rating by the Jury • All finalists will be invited to present their apps to our Jury via a video call beginning of August • Winners will be rated and chosen by mid August 2021 Please note: Apps that are already published on the S&ST Application Store, cannot be proposed for the App Challenge. Apps that are already in the development phase or already existing on the market can still be submitted for the challenge. securityandsafetythings.com 2

For each vertical a jury with experts from 20 leading integrator companies in the industry will announce one winner, with three winners in total. A P P C H A L L E N G E 2.0 Use Cases Here are suggestions for the verticals below, but part of the challenge is to be creative around them and develop a new innovative solution.
