Scouts BSA & Cub Scout District Breakouts
Roundtable Breakout Troops that engage with Cub Scout Packs (especially Webelos II Dens) have greater success crossing-over Webelos into their unit How does your unit interact with Cubs/Webelos?
Scouts BSA Breakout Webelos-to-Scouts BSA Activity Ideas Have a picnic (or potluck if inside) so the Pack and Troop can get to know each other. This builds better bonds and lets the Cubs know what the older scouts look like. Have the troop display some picture boards of what they do as a troop. This gets cubs excited to continue and lets parents know there is more to scouting than just cubs. If there is a crew close invite them as well to show the parents that scouting is for all ages. Have a new Eagle Scout visit a pack and show the items that were used at the Eagle Court of Honor (like a tri-fold) that shows what they did during their years in Scouts BSA Hold an Outdoor Activity with the Troop where the Webelos get to see how exciting the adventures become with Scouts BSA OA Rep at the Crossover - Have an OA rep dressed in regalia escort the graduating scouts over the bridge to Scouts BSA. The OA Rep can give a short speech on the importance of the graduation and welcoming them and parents into the troop.
Roundtable Breakout Your first pack meeting of the year sets the stage for the rest of your unit’s annual program. A fun, exciting, and welcoming event is crucial!

Welcome Aboard to Sea Scouts! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzMC0eCOrp8
Quick Info What do Sea Scout Ships do? Most ships use Sea Scout advancement to help plan their program. This guarantees that youth will have the necessary skills for safe operation of a vessel. Some ships plan their program around a specialty such as competitive sailing, paddle sports, scuba diving, or another aquatic sport. Regardless of the program, Sea Scouts develop their skills, serve their communities, and have fun! Who can join? Youth (male and female) who are 14 years of age or 13 years and have completed the eighth grade and under 21 years of age can join a ship. If you are registered in Scouts BSA, you can also be a Sea Scout without paying an additional registration fee.
Adults can be a part of this new adventure! The Sea Scouts program has all the resources needed to jump start the journey as an adult volunteer! Fast Start Training The Fast Start Training and Sea Scout Adult Leader Basic Training are designed to introduce new leaders to the Sea Scout program. New Unit (Ship) Organization Kit This online resource is tailored to any new leader as an additional resource that builds on the fast start training to assist volunteers in starting a new Ship. Sea Scout Manual The Sea Scout Manual features Advancement Requirements and Electives, Paddle Sports Program, Ship Organization and Uniform Requirements, Safety and Seamanship resources, and more.
Exploring is a unique career exploration program for all local area high school students. The program provides students with an opportunity to learn about different career fields and network with professionals already working in those fields. The programs consist of meeting twice per month from October through May. Check out these Open House events!
