Welcome On behalf of the Washington-Oregon Potato Conference Board of Directors it is my pleasure to welcome you to our Virtual 2021 Potato Conference and Trade Show. 2020 was an extremely challenging year for the entire potato industry. While we are hopefully going to be moving beyond the pandemic and forging a new “normal” soon, in the mean time we need to take safety precautions like having a virtual show instead of meeting in person. Nothing can replace the value of meeting in person and having direct conversations, we are doing our absolute best to provide as much valuable content as possible by continuing to have top-notch speakers, pesticide recertification credits for multiple states, ag innovation sessions and our cultivar session. A major part of our conference each year is the Trade Show. Many growers over the years have said that the Trade Show is the main reason that they attend the Conference. We have done our best to try to put together a virtual Trade Show that has many of the vendors you would normally see at the event making use of virtual booths. These booths will feature some of the products and services that are being offered in the coming year as well as a way for you to communicate electronically with those vendors. We greatly appreciate your participation in our show as either a sponsor, vendor or an “attendee.” Without individuals like you, we could not have a quality show like we have planned. Please enjoy the Virtual Conference and be sure to visit the Trade Show portion to support those vendors who are supporting you. I look forward to being able to meet again in person, until that time, thank you again for attending our virtual conference.
