Wayne Public Library Winter 2022-2023 New Technology Creates More Options Over the last year the library has received several substantial grants which have allowed us to upgrade some of our audio-visual and computing equipment. These upgrades mean we can offer a greater variety of library programs and more ways for people to participate in them! Our large Thomas H. Kelly Community Meeting Room is now outfitted with a new projector, screen, microphones, speakers, DVD player, Smart TV, and videoconferencing equipment. This improves users’ experience at in-person functions and also allows us to bring library programs to people remotely. This winter you’ll see us starting to offer more events in a hybrid format (such as the adult book club or a presentation from the DIA) where you’ll have your choice of joining us in person at the library or from home via Zoom. We’ve also received several new laptops which we’ll use for computer instruction. We’re starting with monthly drop-in help sessions and will also be offering more in-depth assistance with 1-on-1 appointments. Funding for this equipment was provided in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library of Michigan. We’re excited about all the opportunities it will provide! - Jody Wolak, Library Director Wayne Public Library 734-721-7832 3737 S. Wayne Rd. www.wayne.lib.mi.us Wayne, MI 48184
