12 Ways Con Artists Can Steal Your Money Part 1 of 2 Educate yourself to stay safe from fraudsters! 1 Phishing: Someone contacts you via email and says there is some problem with your bank account and you need to verify the account with a Social Security Number, bank routing num- ber or birth date. 2 Stealing mail or sensitive documents: Personal information is taken from your trash, your of- fice or from social media websites and used to steal your identity. Make sure to shred important documents! 3 Bogus job opportunities: Con artists post bogus job offers on various employment websites. The scammer may use or sell your personal information provided in the job application. 4 Gold Coin Scam: You hear an ad on the radio that describes how the world economy is shaky and the only thing you can really rely on during periods of economic uncertainty is precious metals. You call a toll-free number and are pitched on buying gold and silver coins that will un- doubtedly go up significantly in value. What you are not told is that the coins are being sold at a 300-500% mark up and you will lose money the minute you buy them. 5 Free Lunch: The scammer invites a hundred people to a seminar, where he or she presents an unbeatable investment opportunity. You must sign up right then and there. You can’t sign up later because he or she is leaving town in two hours, and so will your money. 6 Oil and Gas Scams: Someone calls and tells you they are drilling for oil off the Gulf Coast or in Mississippi, and they have this great new technology that allows them to find oil where no one else has ever been able to drill. Ask if the caller is a registered broker and if the investment is registered with the state or the SEC. If not, don’t invest. 7 Tech Support Scams: You get a call or a popup warning that your computer has a virus. You are then told to hand over remote access to your computer to fix it. Afraid of the consequences Orthey of inaction, you allow the con to take remote control of your computer and online at install a actually virus and charge you to remove it, or they will convince you to purchase a worthless computer www.bankfidelity.bank maintenance program. Reservations & Payment due November 15th (or until seats run out!) A Christmas Carol A Holiday classic brought to life on stage with musical numbers and great story telling. Ebenezer Scrooge is a prosperous curmudgeon who believes wealth is far more valuable than the happiness and comfort of others. With an infuriated “Bah! Humbug!” Scrooge sums up his feelings of Christmas tidings and the idea of charity. He’s forced to face his selfish ways when three unique ghosts on Christmas Eve lead him through his Past, Present, & Future. Thanks to this magical journey through time, Scrooge experiences a transformation like no other. Recognizing the error of his ways, he greets Christmas morning with a cheerful “Happy Christmas” before spending the day re- $112 per person connecting and sharing love with those that mean the most to him. A Christmas Carol is a spectacular adaptation of Charles Dickens’s most well known story. Call Carolyn to reserve your spot at 319-465-7010. $89.00 per person November 3, 2021 Poisoned apples, glass slippers ... Who needs ‘em?! Not Snow White and her posse of disenchanted princesses in the hilari- ous, naughty hit musical that’s anything but Grimm. Cinderella is kind of a nitwit, Snow White can be a little mean, and Sleep- ing Beauty? Narcoleptic, apparently. In this musical come- dyfor grown-ups, the trio lead an all-princess revue aimed at upending their popular portrayals. When the princesses rail against princes who expect them to do all the housework, the show feels like a girls’-night-out retro rebellion for the subur- ban oppressed. Forget the princesses you think you know - these royal renegades tossed off their tiaras to set the record straight and bring their hilariously subversive, not-for-the-kiddies musical to you. What you thought you knew about princesses will never be the same!!
