JACKSON SENIOR CENTER PICNIC By Paula Schichtel The Jackson Township Senior Center celebrated reopening of events with a Welcome Back Picnic. This was held in the rear parking lot. The area was decorated with flowering plants…tents. 75 Seniors attended…the largest gathering since March of 2020. Preparations for the picnic put all in a party mood...Kristine Jackson and committee spent many days leading up to the event, crafting decorations of Red, White and Blue napkin rings to resemble firecrackers… This rear patio was created to produce a tranquil setting for socializing and having a snack or lunch… Harmony Village of Care One Jackson provided an ice cream truck which was gratefully welcomed as our seniors lined up for their icy treats. The staff provided a safe environment with wrapped hot dogs and other foods in covered containers... It was a joy to see attendees arriving with canes, walkers and wheelchairs...ready for fun…bopping and swaying to the music. The music tent was manned by Wild Rose, a husband and wife team that have become a favorite. Some arrived in full party dress…prepared for a grand time… It was a great welcome back for our seniors and a very emotional day for all…a huge success of a day…with a great attendance…Fun for all of us….
