Day 1 — Monday 3 June Home to Raymond Terrace LD Many of us have been to Sydney before but what a wonderful tour we have in store, filled with new experiences! Our destination today is Raymond Terrace for an overnight stay. This way we won’t have too far to travel tomorrow to arrive into Sydney all refreshed and ready to take in the magic of the Vivid Lights. We make our way south toward Port Macquarie stopping to enjoy lunch at Ricardoes Tomatoes & Strawberries, boasting five varieties of hydroponic strawberries, with over 30,000 plants growing in their greenhouse. We travel along the coast to our motel where on arrival we have time to relax before dinner before retiring for the evening to get ready for an exciting few days ahead of us! Accommodation:- Sir Francis Drake Inn – Raymond Terrace 02 4987 1444
Day 2 — Tuesday 4 June Raymond Terrace to Sydney BLD Today we make our way through to Sydney and the suburb of Gordon. It is here that we visit Eryldene Historic House and Garden. The house was built in 1914 as a family home for E.G.Waterhouse, his wife Janet and their four sons. The garden is regarded as the 'spiritual' home of the camellia in Australia. Waterhouse planted, researched and propagated camellias which earned him international fame and respect and brought the camellia back to popularity as a garden plant. We enjoy morning tea and a tour here before driving through to Taronga Park Zoo. It was the first public zoo in NSW officially opened in 1916. Recent history has seen further develop of research, conservation and education activities which enhances the vision of Taronga Zoo which is to inspire people to discover, explore, delight in and protect our natural world. We then make our way into the city to checkin to our hotel. Positioned perfectly at Circular Quay, we have time to enjoy our stunning hotel before our evening out. Colouring the city with creativity and inspiration, Vivid Sydney highlights include the hugely popular immersive light installations and projections. Tonight we join Magistic Vivid Sydney Cruise and enjoy dining from extensive buffet freshly prepared onboard. We can see the dazzling city skyline from the Magistic decks and view the spectacular artwork on the Opera House from various angles as we cruise around Sydney Harbour. What a wonderful way to finish our day! Accommodation:- Sir Stamford At Circular Quay, Sydney - 02 9252 4600 Day 3 — Wednesday 5 June Sydney BLD After our spectacular night last we have a later start to the day. We have arranged a guided walking tour of Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens, a truly beautiful and cool retreat in the heart of the city. These magnificent gardens became a Botanic Garden in 1816 when Governor Macquarie had a road constructed to Mrs Macquarie's Chair and appointed Charles Fraser as the superintendent of the gardens. The gardens have over 4000 trees and plants from all over the world. There are specialist collections in the herbarium and the pyramid glasshouse where the heat and humidity support an outstanding mixture of tropical and sub-tropical plants. We have time to purchase lunch amongst the beautiful gardens before our afternoon visit to one of Sydney’s popular attractions Madame Tussauds. Millions and millions of people have flocked through the doors of the original Madame Tussauds since they first opened over 250 years ago. Travel on a unique, emotionally-charged journey through the realms of the powerful and famous. The museum-style ropes and poles have gone so we can truly get up, close and personal with A-list celebrities, sporting legends, political heavyweights and historical icons, reliving the times, events and moments that made the world talk about them. Don’t forget your camera so you can be photographed with your famous idol! Returning to our hotel we have the rest of the day at leisure. Tonight after dinner why not take a stroll around the city and get up close to all the spectacular buildings showcasing vivid lights. This will be at your own pace so you can take it all in witnessing Sydney’s transformation into a spectacular canvas of light, music and ideas when Vivid Sydney takes over the city after dark. Accommodation:- Sir Stamford At Circular Quay, Sydney - 02 9252 4600 Day 4 — Thursday 6 June Sydney to Home BL Today is a travel day as we make our way back to Grafton. We make a stop for morning tea along the way and then pull into Nabiac for lunch at the Nabiac Hotel.
