ENDLESS EATS BREAKFAST Wake up excited to enjoy some delicious options in this beautiful village. From a perfect breakfast burrito to a New Mexico twist on eggs Benedict, Ruidoso has you covered. HALO HALO You may have never heard of this one, and it’s because they just opened toward the end of 2018! Although new, they are already making a name for themselves as a local favorite with made-to-order breakfast and lunch and several Keto-friendly food and drink options (including Keto Coffee!). Also, they offer CBD that can be added to any drink! We suggest: Breakfast Burrito Pair with: Dirty Chai - a chai latte with a shot of espresso! To go: New Mexico roasted bagged coffee or anything from their New Mexico-sourced gift shop! CORNERSTONE BAKERY This staple has been a part of Ruidoso for 20 years as of this year! You will have a hard time deciding between all of the yummy baked goods in the case, but don’t worry, you can grab a box of pastries or bag of bread (or both!) to go on your way out. We suggest: Cuba Southwest Eggs Benedict! Think traditional eggs Benedict, topped with pulled pork, hollandaise and New Mexico red chile combo. Pair with: Piñon Coffee at the self-serve coffee station! To go: Fresh, sliced Green Chile Cheddar Bread (insert drooling face emoji here.) PENA’S PLACE This quaint, little local spot is the perfect breakfast place for a peaceful, great meal. Traditional breakfast with a Mexican flare. So. Good. We suggest: Juevos Rancheros Pair with: A cup of joe. To go: A beautiful piece of handmade wooden furniture or decor crafted by the owner! LUNCH Some of our favorite lunch spots just so happen to be in Midtown, which makes them perfect to stop by during a busy day of shopping! Here are a few top lunch picks... THE VILLAGE BUTTERY THE VILLAGE BUTTERY Voted “Best Lunch in Lincoln County” many times, The Village Buttery is always a favorite. They offer soups, sandwiches, salads, quiche, hot specials, and baked goods all made fresh daily! We suggest: Chicken Salad Sandwich (but you really can’t go wrong!) Pair with: Tropical Jasmine Iced Tea To go: Grannie Guthrie’s Buttermilk Pie TINA’S CAFE Tina’s recently moved closer to Midtown at the corner of Sudderth and Mechem. If you have a craving for something local, go here! This cafe is New Mexican style food and they do it just right. We suggest: It’s a tie. The Green Chile Chicken Tamales OR the Puff Pastry. Pair with: Lavender Lemonade - made with fresh brewed lavender flowers in-house! To go: Green Chile Apple Pie CAFE RIO If you have been to Midtown in Ruidoso this place probably needs no introduction. It is a hole-in-the-wall gem of a pizza place, and FUN FACT... don’t ask for ranch - you won’t need it! Because of its size there is often a wait, but let us tell you... It is SO worth it! We suggest: The Connoisseur Pizza - Fresh ricotta, chopped garlic, red onions, and Italian sausage with a parmesan cheese crust. Simple, yet delicious. Pair with: Iced Cream Soda - Vanilla, Strawberry, Chocolate or Cherry! To go: A Par-Cooked, Bake-at-Home pizza (Cause who doesn’t want pizza multiple times on one vacation?!) 28 The Official Ruidoso Visitor Guide™ • 20 1 9 -2020

ALL THE BUZZ(ED) If you’re planning on a night (or day) out on the town, here are some of our favorite drinks in the area to lift your “spirits”. PUMPKIN FLIP Described as pumpkin pie in a glass, this is essentially a pumpkin pie flavored martini, but it’s so much more. This nostalgic drink indulges your sense of smell, taste, and sight. The good news is it’s not a seasonal drink, it’s offered year round! It’s a cold, spice drink topped with whipped cream, a pumpkin wafer, and toasted cinnamon. You can get this drink at Glencoe Distillery. You can also enjoy Glencoe’s distilled cocktails at Sacred Grounds Coffee and Tea House. FUN FACT: When you buy a bottle of any of their spirits they will give you the recipe for one of their handcrafted drinks included! Did we LOCAL mention Lyft is available in TIP Ruidoso? Get home safe. 34 The Official Ruidoso Visitor Guide™ • 20 1 9 -2020 @MJK2012
