Welcome to DiscoverSplit’s Guide to Activities/Destinations/Events! with support from the Central Dalmatia Tourist Board and the Tourist Board of Split Dear Visitor, Central Dalmatia and Split, Croatia’s second largest city with a bit over 200,000 residents, are rapidly becoming one of the “must visit” Mediterranean destinations. There’s so much to see and do here—from experiencing 1,700 years of living history in the Palace of Diocletian to the thrilling Alka Knights Tournament in the inland village of Sinj. Whether it’s whitewater rafting on the Cetina in Omis, spending a day enjoy olives, honey and wine on the island of Solta or going underground to experience a still-working original Roman aqueduct, Central Dalmatia and Split are a joy for the senses. From a hidden stone village on Hvar, a fabulous beach in Brela, to a glittering waterfront restaurant, the discoveries never end. For this year’s edition, we have chosen to profile more than 100 different activities, destinations and events in the region. Everything is divided into travel-related sections, from Adventure to UNESCO sites. All of the texts are written by people who live here and love it. Since it’s possible that some information has changed, we have included a website address at the bottom of each activities/destination page so you can check for the most up to date information. Throughout the Guide you will see a single sponsor for certain activities/destinations. We have personally chosen these to be exclusive sponsors because of their excellent reputation for professional service and quality. If for some reason, you find otherwise, please write to us!
