Trade 6. Prospectus Sheepvention, held annually on the first Monday and Tuesday of August has, since its inception in 1979, grown into one of the biggest and most prestigious rural events in australia. SHEEPVENTION IS A UNIQUE COMBINATION OF EVENTS. • A large Sheep Show exhibiting up to 1,000 sheep. • The SheepTech Pavilion will incorporate studs and genetics and will be the focal point for sheep breeders. • The Home Paddock will include woollen crafts, gardening and home products. Related trade sites, exhibitions and demonstrations will be on offer in The Home Paddock. • The cattle yards precinct will incorporate studs and animal health. • The Producers Pavilion will include the taste of the Great South West food and wine retail sites, demonstration kitchen, working bakery, grain displays, butchery and agri production trade sites. • The Wool Shed Selling Centre will feature the largest multivendor Ram Sale in Australia using a unique pen of five selling system PLUS the Merino Sheep Show. • A large trade and general interest display of over 500 sites offering the latest farming equipment and technology together with over 150 speciality businesses represented. Many people attend Sheepvention each year specifically to purchase from the wide range of quality clothes and products offered. • As well as the Yard Dog Competition and School Events. There is the largest and one of the longest running Inventions Competitions in Australia with many of these inventions now commercially available. • The Wool Fashion Parade is a professionally produced Fashion Show featuring top models parading the latest in wool fashions. Over 4,000 people view the parades held over the two days of Sheepvention. THE SITE The site of Sheepvention is the Hamilton Showgrounds, Horner Street, Hamilton. Hamilton is 290 kilometres from Melbourne and 597 kilometres from Adelaide. ATTENDANCE Attendance at the 2018 Sheepvention was approximately 20,000 people. Visitors and exhibitors attended from all states of Australia and overseas. SECURITY A full overnight security service will be in place from Wednesday 1st August to Tuesday 6th August inclusive. SITE AWARDS Awards will be made for the Best Presented Outdoor Site, Best Presented Indoor Site and Best Corporate Display. SHARING OF SITES (Piggy Backing) No Piggy Backing, sub - Ietting or space farming is permitted at Sheepvention. Only displays that have a genuine company link can be exhibited on the site (ie. unless an exhibitor owns, sells or distributes a particular line of product or service on a normal, continuing basis, it cannot be displayed). lf ”Piggy Backing” has been found to have occurred, a full fee may be charged (see Clause 6 of Trade Exhibitors Conditions of Entry). lf you wish to site share you must complete the Site Sharing section on the application form and pay the appropriate fee. SHEEP Exhibitors requiring sheep for demonstration purposes must make their own arrangements allowing for fresh sheep each day, food and water. A current National Animal Health Statement must be completed and returned to the office for any livestock on site. STRAW Straw is available for purchase and is delivered to your site (see application form). The Hamilton Pastoral and Agircultural Society (P & A Society) is committed to providing high quality dynamic events. The P & A Society conducts Sheepvention. P & A Society volunteers and staff will provide Exhibitors with prompt and courteous service. The expectation of the P & A Society is for Exhibitors to follow the outlined Exhibitors Code of Conduct. CODE OF CONDUCT 1. Be courteous during all dealings with staff and volunteers. No abusive or foul language will be tolerated. 2. Follow the direction of staff and volunteers, particularly in relation to parking and movement of vehicles. 3. Provide payment for all services and items requested and used prior to entering the Hamilton Showgrounds or using the service or item. 4. Provide correct information and refrain from deceptive conduct. COMPLIANCE WITH RULES AND REGULATIONS Where an Exhibitor fails to comply with the conditions of entry, rules or regulations outlined in any P & A Society publication (including but not limited to schedules, guidebooks, prospectus, handbook, signage) the P & A Society may impose one or more of the following: 1. In competitive classes disqualification or removal of awards. 2. In non competitive classes i.e. trade exhibitors/sale exhibitors removal of site/pen allocation if the breach occurs prior to Sheepvention. 3. Removal from the Hamilton Showgrounds during Sheepvention. 4. Require immediate payment of any fees owing. 5. Non acceptance to Sheepvention and Hamilton P & A Society events in the future. Exhibitor sites will be subject to inspection/audit by Sheepvention Occupational Health and Safety Management and may be subject to inspection by Work Safe Victoria and Energy Safe Victoria inspectors at any time prior to and during the event.
