The lodge is a beautiful set of buildings that are ideal for just such a gathering. Perched atop the hills looking south and west over Cook Straight, the views are spectacular. We gobbled it up quick-smart, and the great desserts disappeared very quickly. After lunch, Sharon called us to order and made a special presentation to Wendy and Tony, two core members who have had to give up their lovely MX-5 for health reasons – and who organised this wonderful outing. Tony wasn’t able to make it for lunch, so Wendy accepted the gift (a lovely orchid) and cards signed by everyone. And then, too quickly it seemed, the bus came back and off we went back to our cars. It’s no wonder it’s a popular wedding and overseas tourist venue. The rain came as we arrived and parked up so we grabbed the supplied umbrellas and set off for a stroll. The property is a brainchild of a 18

My partner Kay is an avid artist and loved it in its entire detail. Me, I’m more of a stick figure artist but I was way impressed with the innovation and creativity on display – very, very clever.
