Alarm- and annunciation system of power plants, power stations and grids The Annunciation System The annunciation system is split into 9 different line types. Each line type contains some line groups and every group has up to 100 lines. All lines have a 110 V signal and are based on a common ground. If any of these signals is triggering, the system must react and must latch the incoming signal. In logic network this 380-110V Section signal will be processed for driving some output relays and output common relays. The number of output relays equals the number of lines of a group at every line type, the number of common relays equals the number of groups at a line type. So it will be realized a matrix with outputs (as rows) and common outputs (as columns). At every cross point of these matrices there are some lamps for displaying the triggered input. In one line type you have up to 24 line groups. Each group has up to 100 points for annunciation. For example, we choose 60 input lines for each group. If any one of these 60 inputs is triggered, a digital register is set and the corresponding output relay will be prepared for operating. These relays can only be Transformer Section reset by the reset signal from the “Reset” pushbutton on the main control panel. After the reset, if any one of the inputs is still active, the register will be set again and the output relay will be prepared again. If any of the output relays is activated, the illuminated “Feeder Faulty” pushbutton of the corresponding group will flash. At the same time the buzzer will also sound. The operator has to press the “Silence” pushbutton to mute the buzzer. The operator will press the flashing “Feeder Faulty” pushbutton. Its light will hold on. During pressing the 33 kV Section button the activated output relays and the common output relay will be enabled. They switch on the lamps in the corresponding annunciation window. They will stay displayed as long as the “Feeder Faulty” pushbutton is pressed. Once you release the pushbutton, the annunciation window will become blank. Now the “Reset” pushbutton can be pressed to erase the registers and the output relays and also the lamp in the “Feeder Faulty” pushbutton. 13,8 kV Section Also if more than one group announces a failure, the above procedure is valid. The only difference is that the “Reset” pushbutton must not be pressed before all annunciation information of all the feeders, which have trip or abnormal indications, has confirmed with the “Feeder Faulty” pushbutton. If a second trigger occurs after the faulty button was pressed once (lamp in the button is steady) and the registers are not cleared yet the button lamps starts re-flashing and also the buzzer will sound once more. During pressing the “Lamp Test” pushbutton all lamps of the whole annunciation window will light. Bus Bar, General Alarms, Spare Parts All input signals are 0 V in inactive condition and 110 VDC in active condition. The minimum time, where an input signal stays on 110 VDC is around 10 ms. All signals are decoupled with opto couplers. So the common line of the input signals can be different to the common of the announcing electronics. All outputs for Buzzers, lamps and pushbutton light are realized with relays. The flashing of the button lamps will be realized with an internally placed oscillator. The whole system is supplied from ± 57.5 VDC in relation to ground potential. Station Auxiliary, Bus Coupler, Bus Section, Spare Parts 2011 page 43 SCH
