HOLY FAMILY CATHOLIC SCHOOL BUS SERVICE 1. Increasingly, we have noticed that families are finding it difficult to get their children safely to Holy Family Catholic school. You may consider using the Holy Family School Bus. 2. Holy Family Catholic School is planning to provide a Morning/Afternoon Bus Service in 2022. The bus would pick up children and drop them in the Kiss and Drop Zone within the school. The bus will collect the children within the school and return them to their local Bus Stop destination agreed to by the school and the families as mutually convenient. 3. The Bus Service will be provided by Adelaide Star Bus Service with a bus leased by the school with an accredited driver and carrying the School Logo. 4. Our main family cohorts by student numbers are located in the following areas: • Burton 27 • Mawson Lakes 20 • Parafield Gardens 235 • Paralowie 95 • Salisbury 27 • Salisbury Downs 43 • Salisbury North 26 • Virginia 10 5. We will distribute bus stops according to the most convenient pattern for service to families and time management. Sometimes collection from a home address may be possible depending on demand. 6. The estimated cost would be $4.00 per trip. Discounts will apply for multiple trip passes. 7. To assist us in our planning please indicate your interest in your children using the school bus by completing this survey. Thank you for considering this service. FROM THE APRIM The Season of Christmas The Christmas Season is a time when we celebrate promises kept and prophecies fulfilled. During Advent, we read about Isaiah’s prophecy of a Saviour who would be sent from God. This prophecy becomes reality when Jesus is born in a stable in Bethlehem on Christmas Day. The message of the Angel to the shepherds wonderfully states the purpose of God sending his son, Jesus to Earth. The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you, he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you. You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” (Luke 2:8-12.) The Angel bringing the Good News to the Shepherds, an occupation that was held in low estimation by the Jewish Religious leadership at the time demonstrates that Jesus came for everyone as they were the first people to spread the news of Jesus’ birth. So, when I am opening up my presents and eating too much food on Christmas Day, I need to remind myself about the meaning of Christmas and the message of hope and salvation that was proclaimed by the Angel and witnessed by the Shepherds that Jesus came for everyone. As Father Roderick reminded me at Mass last Saturday night, “Jesus is the reason for the season.” Finally, thank you to the entire Holy Family School and Parish Community for their encouragement and engagement in my work. Have a safe and joyful Christmas & New Year. Michael Urdanoff APRIM Friday, 10 December 2021 - Week 9 Term 4
