Centre lifts ban on export of all varieties of Onions The Centre has lifted the ban on the export of all varieties of Onions with effect from 1st January 2021. In a notification Directorate General of Foreign Trade, DGFT said, exports of all varieties of onion will be allowed. In September, the government had prohibited exports due to a spurt in prices. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) is the agency of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Government of India responsible for administering laws regarding foreign trade and foreign investment in India. EAM Dr. S Jaishankar calls on senior leaders of Qatar govt External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar called on senior leaders of the Qatar government and discussed various issue of mutual interest. Dr. Jaishankar has concluded his two-day stand-alone visit to Qatar. During his visit, Dr. Jaishankar has called on Amir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and handed over a personal message from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, inviting him to visit India and thanking Qatar for taking care of the Indian community during Covid-19. The 351-kilometre New Bhaupur- New Khurja section of EDFC is situated in Uttar Pradesh and is built at a cost of Rs. 5,750 crore. The section will open new vistas of opportunity for the local industries such as aluminium industry in Kanpur Dehat district, dairy sector in Auraiya, textile production in Etawah, glassware industry in Firozabad and locks and hardware in Aligarh district. Skyroot Aerospace becomes first Indian company to successfully test fire solid-fueled rocket engine
Indian Space startup, Skyroot Aerospace has successfully test fired a solid propulsion rocket engine, named Kalam-5 With this, it has become the first private company of India to successfully design, develop and test a full solid-fueled rocket stage. This crucial propulsion technology will be used for their maiden rocket Vikram-1, which is under active manufacturing and is targeted to be launched in December 2021 with the help of ISRO. Kalam is a series of five solid-fueled rocket engines with a thrust ranging from 5kN to 1000kN (approx 100Tons). The remaining four motors are in various stages of manufacturing and will be tested in 2021. Ladakh UT get its own Meteorological Centre Union Territory Ladakh gets its own Meteorological Centre. Indian met department in Srinagar was dependent on defence establishments in Ladakh for weather readings in the vastly spread region. Union Earth Sciences Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, virtually inaugurated the newly established Indian Meteorological Department for Ladakh, in Leh.
