Russian Scientists have detected the first case of transmission of Avian Flu to humans Russia has said that its scientists have detected the first case of transmission of the H5N8 strain of Avian Flu to humans and ed the World Health Organization in this regard. The head of Russia's health watchdog Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova said that information about the world's first case of transmission of the Avian Flu (H5N8) to humans has already been sent to the World Health Organization. Highly contagious strain H5N8 is lethal for birds but it has never been reported before to have spread to humans. India sends COVID-19 vaccine to Mongolia In the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, India has sent 13 boxes of COVID-19 vaccine to Mongolia.
The vaccine was sent from the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), Mumbai to Mongolia. 25 nations across the world have already received Made in India vaccines and 49 more countries will be supplied in the coming days, ranging from Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean to Africa, South- East Asia and the Pacific Islands. Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan launched Intensified Mission Indradhanush 3.0, (IMI 3.0) to expand immunization coverage across the country. It will have two rounds starting from the 22nd of this month and the 22nd of March this year. The IMI 3.0 is aimed at reaching the unreached population with all the available vaccines under Universal Immunisation Programme and thereby accelerate the full immunization and complete immunization coverage of children and pregnant women. The focus of the Intensified Mission Indradhanush 3.0 will be the children and pregnant women who have missed their vaccine doses during the COVID-19 pandemic. The present campaign will target achieving 90 percent Full Immunization Coverage in all districts of the country. Online four day Toy Fair to begin on Feb 27 in MP In Madhya Pradesh, online four-day Toy Fair will begin on 27th February. Karnataka to host second Khelo India University Games this year Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju has announced that the second Khelo India University Games will be hosted by Karnataka.
The largest University games in the country scheduled later this year will be held in Bengaluru in partnership with the Association of Indian Universities. Over 4,000 sportsmen under the age of 25 will compete with an opportunity to be selected for the national teams. The first edition of University games was held in Bhubaneswar last year. In the second edition of the games, Yogasana and Mallakhamb have been added. Sri Lanka Fast Bowler Dhammika Prasad quits international cricket The Sri Lanka fast bowler Dhammika Prasad has announced his retirement from international cricket with immediate effect.
