This branch is closing, but your bank is always open At Heritage Bank we sincerely value our branch network and the dedicated teams who work within it, which is why we’re sorry to pass on the news that the Buderim branch is closing. We know the branch has been convenient for you and we will do everything we can to help you manage this change, and transition to other services with as little disruption as possible. This brochure will help you understand how we’ve come to the decision to close the Buderim branch. It will also explain the banking services and support that are available to you in the lead up to the closure on Friday, 31 July 2020. In a second digital brochure, which will be available online in August at heritage.com.au/buderimclosure, we’ll share feedback and concerns we received from the local community. We’ll also detail how we are helping members transition from using the Buderim branch to alternative banking services. Proposals to close any Heritage Bank branch are made by the Heritage leadership teams and verified at a Board level before closure announcements are made. Why the Buderim branch is
closing
Before we make the decision to close any branch, we
think carefully about how it has been used in the past
and what will serve our members best in the future. We
then consider the availability of other branches nearby
and whether we can offer similar services from those
locations.
We spent a significant amount of time reviewing the
Buderim branch and found that:
• The number of in-branch transactions has been
declining over the past several years, and continues
to drop as shown in the table below.
• More than 76% of our members also use other
services such as internet and phone banking. The
number of members using alternative banking
services continues to increase.
• Less than 250 members use this branch exclusively
for their banking. We have made it a priority to
support these members in transitioning to other
services.
• Our lease at Buderim is coming to an end. Given the
decline in branch activity and the change in member
behaviour over recent years, we are unable to
commit to a further 5 year lease.

Phone Banking
Phone banking allows you to perform basic transactions
over the phone for the cost of a local phone call.*
Transfer funds, pay bills, activate cards, get account
balances and perform general enquiries 24 hours a day, 7
days a week simply by calling 13 14 22 and selecting
option 1 from any touchtone telephone. Registering for
phone banking is simple. Call us on 13 14 22 or visit your
nearest branch.
*Higher charges may apply from mobile phones or for international calls.
SMS & Email Alerts
Stay up to date with significant transactions taking place
on your account with convenient SMS and email alerts.
For example, you can set up an alert to let you know
whenever a Visa Authorisation for more than $500 is
processed, or when the balance of your transaction
account falls below $10. You can choose the notifications
that matter to you, and even specify what time of day
you’d prefer to receive alerts. Email alerts are free. SMS
alerts are $0.25 per SMS sent.

Heritage offers a number of contactless digital payment
solutions, making it easier for you to tap-and-go without
having to handle cash or use your Visa debit or credit
