Map of Kentucky Horse Park WEEKLY PARKING PASS $15 fee will be assessed for the parking pass for the event. Weekly Parking passes for Trainers and Exhibitors may be obtained at the Parking Booth or Visitor Information Center upon entry to the Park. HORSE TRAILER PARKING Horse trailer day passes are required for all competitors showing out of their trailer and must be purchased for $30 at the Parking Booth. All trailers must park in approved lot. NO PARKING is allowed in the Barn area. ON LINE ENTRY SYSTEM AVAILABLE We are offering online entries through www.horseshowsonline.com. There is a $1/entry charge for this service. Below are instructions to enter online. What you need: • A free account at HorseShowsOnline. If you don't already have an account you can create one when you click the continue button below. HorseShowsOnline basic member is FREE. • A record in your account for each person and horse that you will use on show entry forms when you enter a show. How do I get started? • Login to HorseShowsOnline by clicking the "Member Services" button in the main menu, OR click the continue button below. • Once you are logged in, click the "My Horses, People, Shows" button in the member menu. • At the People, Horses, Shows page, add any new people and horses to your account as required on the appropriate tab (IE: My People, My Horses). People and horses are saved with your account. Once you have those records in your account you can use them at every show you enter. • Click the "Enter show" button to select the show you want to enter and follow the steps in the online entry wizard. Steps to enter a show: • Select the show you want to enter from your "My People, Horses, Shows" page on the "My Show Entries" tab, or find the show you want to enter in show selector and click the Online Entry icon. This will start the online entry wizard. Make sure you have already created the horses and people in your member account. • The online entry wizard will guide you through the steps to complete the entry form. The basic steps in the wizard are: • Select the horse, people, and riders for your entry • Select the classes each rider is entered in. • Select the quantity for stalls and other fees. • Confirm your selections • Checkout and submit the show entry. • The final step generates the completed entry form and submits your entry to the show for review and acceptance. If the show requires a payment at entry time, you will be prompted for your credit card information. Tips: • You can cancel the entry part way through the wizard and resume the entry later on. For example, if you need to add more people to your account, or you just want to come back and complete the entry later. Unfinished entry forms are listed in your "My entries" tab and will allow you to edit the entry. • People and horses, you create in your account are saved permanently and can be used in other shows you enter. You only need to add people and horses once and then they can be re-used.
REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO GOLF CARTS / ATV'S / MOTOR VEHICLES 1. PRIVATELY OWNED GOLF CARTS A Kentucky Horse Park Golf Cart User License Decal must be purchased to operate the golf cart within the Kentucky Horse Park. (Must have a valid driver’s license) THE LICENSE COST; $50.00 FOR THE SEASON 2. ATV'S / 4 WHEELERS / 3 WHEELERS / DIRT BIKES Off-road type motorcycles are not permitted anywhere on the Kentucky Horse Park (STRICTLY ENFORCED). EXEMPT VEHICLES ARE KHP LAW ENFORCEMENT, FIRE & MEDICAL PERSONNEL 3. Golf cart license can be purchased at the CAMPGROUND STORE and DEVER INC. (located in the show area). 4. PER KENTUCKY STATUTES The operator of any motor vehicle (electric, gas, diesel) must be at least 16 years of age and have a valid operator’s license. KRS 186-620 Unlawful to drive or permit another to drive without a license. (per Fayette County District Court / *minimum fine $159, includes $135.50 mandatory court cost) KRS: 189.040 (front lights) KRS: 189.050 (rear lights) AFTER DARK (Night-low light) the vehicle must have a working head light and tail light PLEASE NOTICE! GOLF CARTS / MOPEDS, ETC – A privilege, not a right, extended to show participants. You must be at least 16 years of age with a valid driver’s license to operate these vehicles. Not allowed in the Tourist / Visitor areas of the Park. A Golf Cart License is required for all private golf-carts and can be obtained for $20 per event / or $50 for the season from the Golf Cart Vendor office. BARN CALLS! Entries must be prepared and report to the makeup area at least 10 minutes prior to the class in which they are entered. Kentucky Fall Classic will make every effort to announce the progress of the preceding class over speakers to the stable area. Barn calls are a courtesy of the show. It is the responsibility of the exhibitor to present your horse prior to the gate closing. FEED AND BEDDING 859-233-9702 Preorder these items online at www.deverinc.com by clicking on "feed, hay & bedding". This way the items will be placed at in your stalls ahead of your arrival. ALL HORSES MUST HAVE CURRENT HEALTH CERTIFICATES • COGGINS TESTS: Proof of negative Coggins within the past 12 months is required of every horse entering the show grounds. A copy of the test results should be attached to the entry form; otherwise, they must be presented to the Secretary upon arrival. NO ENTRY WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT CURRENT TEST RESULTS. • VETERINARIAN: Dr. Ashley Craig DVM, Lexington, Kentucky will serve as the official Horse Show Veterinarian Service and will inspect such horses designated by the judge(s) or steward to be considered unsound and will pass on any question pertaining to the soundness of any horse before being excused from the class. Her decision will be final.

IN NO INCIDENT WILL THE KENTUCKY HORSE PARK OR THE UPHA CHAPTER 9 KENTUCKY FALL CLASSIC HORSE SHOW BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE IN ACCIDENTS OR DAMAGE TO PERSONS OR ANIMALS OR LIABLE FOR ANY INJURY SUSTAINTED IN ANY WAY TO EXHIBITORS, SPECTATORS, EMPLOYEES OR ANY OTHER INTERESTED PARTIES. NOR WILL THE KENTUCKY HORSE PARK OR THE UPHA CHAPTER 9 KENTUCKY FALL CLASSIC HORSE SHOW AND its MANAGEMENT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ARTICLES LOST OR STOLEN. IT WILL BE THE CONDITIONS OF ANY ENTRY AT THE UPHA CHAPTER 9 KENTUCKY FALL CLASSIC TO HOLD BLAMELESS ANY PARTIES CONNECTED TO THE SHOW FOR ANY TYPE OF LOSS. • POST ENTRIES: REGULAR FEE PLUS $10 per entry from September 23 until 2 hours prior to Show each day. • ENTRIES CAN NOT BE ACCEPTED UNLESS ACCOMPANIED BY PAYMENT INCLUDING STALL FEES. STALLS WILL NOT BE RESERVED WITHOUT PAYMENT IN FULL • OPEN ACCOUNTS: There will be no open charge accounts without an open check or credit card on file in the office. • ONE-HORSE PER ENTRY FORM Entries must be completed on entry forms furnished by the UPHA Chapter 9 Kentucky Fall Classic Horse Show. • PLEASE TYPE OR PRINT. HORSES MUST BE ENTERED BY THEIR REGISTERED NAME AND CORRECT OWNERSHIP. Copies of registration papers are required. • All Entries are required to have a Certificate of Equine Infectious Anemia Test (Coggins Test) within the past twelve (12) months as required by the Kentucky State Veterinarian. No exceptions. ALL HORSES MUST HAVE A HEALTH CERTIFICATE issued by a veterinarian within the past 120 days with a temperature on each animal. • STALLS: Horse and tack stalls are $175 each for the entire show. Grounds Fee NO FIRST BEDDING PROVIDED. All stalls are 10 X 10 pvc panel permanent box stalls equipped with sliding doors and equimix asphalt flooring. Early ship in stalls available at $50 per day. Stalls will only be assigned to horses entered and competing in the Horse show. (859)233-9702 or www.deverinc.com • CONTROL OF HORSES: Horses must be kept under control at all times. At the discretion of the judges and/or steward, horses may not be allowed to compete. Owner will forfeit entry fees. • COURTESY TO OFFICIALS: Any act of discourtesy to the judges on the part of any exhibitor, owner, trainer or groom shall disqualify the horse and rider. The owner shall forfeit his entry fees and any prize money won at this show. During the time of judging, no person will be allowed in the ring except ring attendants, judge(s) of the class and when necessary the handler in charge of the horse being judged. Attendants or grooms will enter the ring in suitable attire only. Headers may enter the ring by the end gate only and must take no actions that will affect the performance of any animal in the class.
• AMERICAN SADDLEBRED HORSE ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP: All owners and trainers of American Saddlebred horses must be members of the American Saddlebred Horse Association (ASHA). You can contact them at 859-259-2742 for questions regarding your membership. • UNITED PROFESSIONAL HORSEMAN’S ASSOCIATION MEMBERSHIP: A Professional trainer of a UPHA Classic entry must be an Active member of UPHA and the current owner of the entry needs to be an Associate member of UPHA and the membership numbers must appear on the entry form. If a non-professional is exhibiting the horse, they must be an Associate or Junior member of the UPHA. All exhibitors showing in Challenge Cup Classes must be Junior Members of UPHA. • AMERICAN HACKNEY HORSE SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP: Owners and trainers of ponies participating at Federation licensed competitions in any Hackney section must be current members in good standing with the American Hackney Horse Society and provide an original or copy of the AHHS membership card unless the competition, at their discretion, confirms electronically with the AHHS office. Lessees are considered owners in connection with this membership requirement. In the event of an entry with multiple owners, only one owner need be a member of AHHS. • TIME OUTS: Only one (1) 5-minute timeout may be requested per exhibitor per class. In case of casting a shoe or breakage of equipment in the paddock, the gate may be held no more than 3 minutes. There will be no delay after the first horse enters the ring, at which time the gate will be held for 2 minutes. • THE HORSE SHOW COMMITTEE decision shall be final and shall decide all questions not covered in these rules and regulations. • CANCELLATION/SCRATCHES: Exhibitors canceling their entries after the official closing for any reason shall forfeit the accumulation of entry and stall fees. All scratching of horses at the show must be done at the show office one hour before the start of the session in which they are to compete. PLEASE MAKE SCRATCHES EARLY AND BE CONSIDERATE TO OTHER EXHIBITORS. • RING DIMENSIONS: Show Ring 135 feet x 309 feet –clay/river sand mix footing – Indoor Show Arena with Indoor Make up Area. • PAYMENT OF PREMIUMS: All prize money will be paid by check drawn to the order of the payee as listed on the entry blank. Checks will be forwarded by mail within 30 days after the show. ASHBA NATIONAL SELECT SERIES REGION 7 CHAMPIONSHIP To be in the program an exhibitor must declare that their horse will not show at The World’s Championship Horse Show in the year they are competing, under their ownership. If the horse does show at The World’s Championship Horse Show, It WILL NOT be eligible for The ASHBA National Select Series Championship classes and year end awards. Also, to be eligible for the Championship classes a horse must have shown in at least (1) class throughout the year in the ASHA National Select Series program. These classes DO NOT qualify for The World’s Championship Horse Show. To be eligible for the ASHA National Select Series Equitation class, you MUST NOT BE A PAST OR CURRENT EQUITATION FINALS WINNER. Kentucky State Academy Rules Attire of the rider: Jodhpurs, vests, tie and long-sleeved shirt, with riding boots and gloves. Hair should be neatly held back so that the back number is visible. Riding suits and hats are prohibited. Protective headgear is strongly encouraged for all riders 17 and under. Equipment for the horse: School bridles, double or full bridles with running martingales and German martingales are all permissible along with appropriate saddle for the division being judged. Any type leverage bit with a curb chain or strap is not allowed with rein through martingale or a draw rein attached to said bit. Any protective equipment (shin boots, knee boots, rundowns, saddle pads, etc.) will be permitted. Blunt spurs are optional at the discretion of the instructor. No braiding of the horse; hoof blacking is optional. Training devices such as chains, stretchers, and blinkers are NOT allowed in the warm up ring or the show ring. Judging Criteria: There should be two main divisions: 1. Equitation: To be judged on basic seat, hands and form, along with effective control of the horse. 2. Pleasure: To be judged on showmanship, ring generalship and presentation of the horse to its best ability. Rider Eligibility: A rider is no longer eligible for the academy division if he/she has shown, dressed in a riding suit in a regular horse show class; with the exception of competing in a 4-H Horse Show. This applies to riders that compete in a suit in the walk/trot division – they cannot then compete in the walk/trot/canter academy division. Exception to this will be for riders to show in the show rider academy classes. Horse Eligibility: A horse that is used in an academy competition can be farm or privately owned and must earn its living in a lesson program. It cannot be maintained in training within the current show season. Cross Entering: 1. Management reserves the right to combine and split classes as necessary. 2. It is strongly recommended that class splits be run back to back to aid in having less tack and rider changes. 3. From Downtown Lexington: Travel north on Newtown Pike (992) to Iron Works Pike (approximately 9 miles) and turn left. Traveling west in approximately 2 miles The Kentucky Horse Park entrance will be on the right-hand side of the road. From Louisville, Kentucky: Travel east on I-64 to I-75 north (approximately 70 miles). Take exit 120 from I-75 north and at the top of the ramp turn right onto Iron Works Pike in about .5 miles the Kentucky Horse Park entrance will be on the left-hand side of the road. From Cincinnati, Ohio: Travel south on Interstate I-75 (approximately 70 miles) and take exit 120. From Knoxville, Tennessee: Travel north on I-75 (approximately 173 miles) and take exit 120. PARKING - Passes may be obtained from the Parking Booth or Visitor Information Center upon entry. $15.00 fee assessed for each parking pass per event. All trailers must park in approved lot. NO PARKING is allowed in the barn area. Trailers should be dropped in the appropriate parking lot and NOT in the stabling area. 2. CAMPING- Must go to campground for all camping, unless event has made separate arrangements with KHP Special Events. NO CAMPING ALLOWED IN BARN AREA AT ANY TIME! Violators will be towed. 3. GOLF CARTS/ MOPEDS ETC. - A privilege-not a right- extended to show participants. Must be at least 16 years of age with valid driver’s license. Not allowed in the tourist/visitor areas of the Park. NO ALL TERRAIN (4-wheeler, 3-wheeler, dirt bikes over 50 cc’s) VEHICLES ARE ALLOWED ON HORSE SHOW GROUNDS! 4. DOGS- Must be on a leash (not to exceed 6 feet in length) or suitably restrained in a tack stall/cage etc. Loose animals/ animals left in vehicles in distress, etc. can and will be removed from the grounds at the owner’s expense. 5. HORSES AND HORSE DRAWN VEHICLES / STABLING – Horse and carriages have the right-of-way at all times. Competitors must comply with contracted ship-in and ship-out dates. 6. EXHIBITOR PROBLEMS/SPECIAL REQUESTS-All non-emergency problems or special requests must be relayed through show management to ensure prompt attention. 7. PACKAGES/DELIVERIES- The Park is not responsible for any deliveries to an event or event participant. All packages are delivered to Central Receiving at the Maintenance Complex; addressee is responsible for retrieving packages. Park mail service personnel will try to assist if conditions allow, however, any delivery/package may be refused/returned to sender, etc. at any time without notification. 8. PARK ADMISSION- Reduced Park admission is available to event participants and must be obtained at the Visitor Information Center. 9. FIRE CODES – As of May 15, 2006, The Kentucky Horse Park will not allow the following inside of barns or tents, which will be enforced by the Fire Marshal: a. any 2-wire appliances b. any 2-wire extension cords c. light duty cords for indoor use d. any 3-way adaptors unless specifically made for outdoors e. any adaptors without 3-wire connections f. any cut or damaged cords 10. EVENT MANAGEMENT is responsible for notifying/ making available all Park rules/regulations to participants in their event. Included, but not limited to, exhibitors, officials and volunteers.
