Highlights about universities and colleges • Each university and college has its own admission criteria for each of its programs and its own admission process (except for CEGEPs); • Admission deadlines for international students are generally: Start of school in January 2022 : October 1st - November 1st, 2021 Start of school in September 2022 : January 15 - March 1st, 2022. • Students can usually do 3 choices of programs in their admission application to a Greater Montréal- based educational institution 11
Situation related to COVID-19 COVID-19 Special page for international students: click here • International students can enter Canada as long as they respect the rules of entry (e.g. quarantine on arrival etc.) • For the Winter 2021 semester, universities offer a majority of online courses with few in-person courses when needed (e.g. labs etc.) • A return to in-person classes is planned in several universities as of September 2021, or the beginning of the school year • The Government of Quebec has set a goal of offering a first dose of vaccine to all of its residents by June 24. International students remain a priority for educational institutions in Greater Montréal. 12

Finding student housing in Montréal: it's easy! • Most universities and colleges have student housing on their campuses (between $8,000 and $10,000 CAD for 9 months) • Roommates are a popular choice for international students (between $500 and $800 CAD per month on average - including charges) • Apartments near campus • Several Facebook groups and websites to find roommates (Kijiji, Facebook MarketPlace, Student Facebook Groups...) • Renting your own studio or apartment is also possible (between $800 and $1200 CAD per month) 16
