S A FE T Y FE AT U R E ESV Safety Day Middy’s supports raising awareness for general safety in the Electrical Industry by holding an annual Safety Day in conjunction with Energy Safe Victoria. On Friday 22 November and Friday April 24 2020, Middy's metro and country branch staff across the State of Victoria will all don black ’STAY ALIVE NEVER WORK LIVE’ T-shirts in support of the cause. The day aims to raise awareness and start a conversation at branch level between contractors and staff on the dangers of working live. Middy’s branches across the State will fire up their BBQs for the hungry contractors that turn up on the day with ESV representatives answering questions from our Middy's customers concerning workplace safety. Over the last six years, an average of seven deaths per year have resulted from contact with electricity in the Australian electrical industry. Middy's will continue to do all it can to ensure the death toll is reduced to zero. Middy's has also partnered with NECA Education & Careers to help educate young apprentices from the very beginning of their apprenticeship to ensure they are aware of the potential dangers surrounding electricians. For any questions you may have in regards to safety please ask one of our staff members or visit the ESV website esv.vic.gov.au Life’s fragile. Don’t blow it. Never work live. Even when you’re under pressure, there’s no excuse to cut corners. Nothing is too urgent or important. Always isolate and test before you touch.
