2020’s Final Blow Comes in the One of the Most Boring Superbowls By Sam Erickson The entire 2020-21 NFL season was constantly hanging on the edge of a cliff, with fans expecting the whole thing to crumple and fold inwards on itself, until the Super Bowl finally arrived. It felt as though we had defeated the last spell of 2020, take that covid, we still have our Super Bowl! Little did we know that 2020 was brewing up a truly monotonous and epicly lame championship. Tom Brady won, which already is a bummer for everyone outside Tampa, and the football gods couldn’t even grant us a slightly entertaining game, the Buccaneers thoroughly owned the chiefs 31-9. Watching the game you just felt this feeling of ugh, with Image Source: Canva Patrick Mahomes desperate scramble, the feeling only grew. Even Tom Brady trash talking someone for no reason wasn’t enough to draw us out of the haze. 2020 struck it’s final blow Super Bowl Sunday, one that not even hilarious Will Ferrel commercials could dampen. My younger brother commented this the day after the game, “They kept on saying that Tampa does ‘simple’ plays, but we all knew they just meant boring”, I couldn’t agree more, take notes Tony Image Source: Canva Romo.
