7 Rural Ambassador Award ‘To raise the profile of Agriculture and Queensland Shows’ The “Marsh Rural Ambassador Awards” is open to males and females, 20 to 30 years of age who have a strong commitment to the rural lifestyle. The Aim of the competition is to highlight the importance of young people in rural and regional Queensland. The competition is run on four levels. The local show winner progresses to the Sub Chamber Final where the winner competes in the State Final which is held during the Royal Queensland Show (EKKA). The winner of the State Final then competes at the National final held at a State Royal Show. This is a national competition, but with New Zealand joining us in 2008, it has expanded to international status. For further Information and Nomination Forms contact the Show Secretary. Entries close on Friday 13th February 2020. Interviews will take place on 21st February. Miss Showgirl Award ‘To promote your Local Community’ Open to single girls aged 18 years and under 28 years of age as at 1st August 2020 (some conditions apply). 15 Advice to Exhibitors and patrons * A.T.M. outlet on grounds *Show Admission Prices: See Page 1. *Traffic on Show Day: we ask that all drivers be aware of turning traffic and pedestrians and travel at a safe speed inside and outside the grounds. *Entry Points: GATE 1: Horses, Dogs, Timber Sports GATE 2: Pedestrians, Emergency Vehicles. GATE 3: Cattle, Poultry, Trade and Services. (Restricted Time Parking Zone.) Disabled Parking: Behind Pavilion. Enter via Gate 3. Pedestrian Access: All Gates. Caution is advised during periods of moving traffic. Bio-security and livestock movement: *All Exhibitors of Livestock including Poultry and Pets are required to comply with current Bio-Security rules. *PROSTON SHOW GROUNDS PIC No: QDW D 100 1 ABN: 81 583 946 005 *To All Exhibitors of Livestock originating from the Cattle Tick Protected and Free Areas: Proston PA&H Society has an approved spray facility located within the Proston showgrounds. There is an approved tick control person and equipment available to undertake required treatments for livestock exhibited on their return movement to the property origin. To be eligible to have the approved person treat your stock you will need a Queensland Travel Permit issued by your local stock inspector and a fully completed Queensland Livestock Movement System – Move Easy Waybill. The Permit will be from your property to the showgrounds and return, subject to the conditions endorsed on the permit including: the return movement must be within 72 hours for cattle, deer and buffalo; within 5 days for horses, sheep, goats and camelids, and that will allow for the approved person to perform the required treatments. Under no circumstances will the approved sprayer perform any treatment of stock unless ALL conditions of the permit are met, and the Permit and Waybill are presented. An alternative, is for any person who has undertaken an approved awareness course, to treat their own stock. These people will be permitted to utilise the facilities at the grounds. Any stock not meeting these requirements will be required to be treated by a permanent inspector at a clearance centre.
