COVID-19 Vaccination Update • The Ontario government is preparing to move into Phase Two of its COVID-19 vaccine distribution plan in April • Continuing to focus on vaccinating populations based on age and risk • The Province has not indicated a specific date for the announcement of Phase Two.

COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility As of March 10, the following are newly eligible ▪ Adults 16 years of age and older who are chronic home care recipients ▪ Eligible chronic home care recipients will be contacted by their home care provider to make an appointment ▪ Laboratory services o Adults 80 years of age and older. ▪ NOTE: Those born in 1941 or before, are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine including those turning 80 years old in 2021.
COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility ▪ Frontline healthcare workers in the following outpatient and ambulatory areas: • Hospital-based outpatient clinics, • Primary care, including walk-in clinics, community health centres, and nurse- practitioner-led clinics, • Home and community care, • Adult day programs for seniors, • Community-Based Specialty clinics, including medical and surgical specialties, • Death investigation professionals, • Dentistry, • Gynecology/obstetrics, midwifery, and birth centres, • Contract nursing agencies, • Pharmacies, • Assisted living, group homes, residential facilities, supportive housing • Correctional settings, • Hospices and palliative care settings, and • Shelters

Healthcare Worker Pre-registration What to expect, • You will get a message “Your responses were submitted” after you hit ‘submit’ on the pre-registration survey – this is your confirmation • When your organization becomes eligible, you will get an email from MLHU giving you an username and password • NOTE: You may qualify for eligibility, but your organization may not get the email for 2-3 days • Please be patient - there are priorities within your eligibility grouping • If you missed a member of your organization on the original list, submit another list with just the new members on it • They won’t be able to book a vaccine until they get a confirmation email. • As of today, over 1157 organizations have submitted pre-registration lists of over 16,000 healthcare workers to MLHU

COVID-19 vaccines in select pharmacies and primary care settings o As of March 12, over 325 pharmacy sites will offer the AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD COVID-19 vaccine to Ontarians 60- 64 in Toronto, Windsor-Essex, Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington. o The province is working with primary care professionals in Hamilton, Toronto, Guelph, Peterborough, Simcoe-Muskoka, and Peel to offer the AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD COVID-19 vaccine to those aged 60-64. o Not yet happening in our region. When further information becomes available, we will provide updates
COVID-19 Projections • Ontario’s COVID-19 Science and Advisory Table released updated projections demonstrating the continued decrease in COVID-19 cases and deaths following widespread vaccination in long-term care. • They caution public health measures must continue to be followed in order to avoid an increased risk of COVID-19 cases spreading, especially with VOCs.
