What we are asking of you next Tuesday… ● APPROVE the layoff resolutions ● UNDERSTAND the maximum position reduction that we anticipate (this is called the PKS or the Particular Kinds of Service) ● SUPPORT us in being UNITED in approaching this reduction in force with maximum clarity, transparency, and compassion
Where we are going from here… ● SEND: We will send Preliminary Layoff Notices to the employees on the seniority list by March 15. ● COLLABORATE: We will work with our labor partners to resolve as many issues as possible,hopefully avoid hearings and make this as humane process a process as possible. ● ANTICIPATE: ○ The number of reductions will decrease. ○ The external consultant will provide analysis and recommendations about reducing or maintaining unrepresented management positions. ● RESCIND: After the consolidation process in April, we will begin to rescind layoff notices by seniority as possible. ● SEND: We will issue Final Layoff Notices, if necessary, by May 13.
