Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the Modified Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and Vaulting Competitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competitions upon payment of a $45 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot (exception: Friesian performance FR222) and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes.
Kentucky National 2021 General Information USEF Affiliation Statement: This show is a regular member show of the United States Federation. Every class offered herein is covered by the rules specifications of the current USEF Rulebook and will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. Entries & Stall Orders All horse entries made before September 18 must be done online at horseshowsonline.com . The Kentucky National’s entry platform opens July 1, 2021. Regular entries close September 1, 2021. Late entries/stalls made online after September 1 pay an additional $35 late fee. Entries made after SEPTEMBER 18 , must be made on paper, IN THE SHOW OFFICE, and will pay a $100 late fee for each paper entry made . Pre-entries will only be accepted online in 2021 via horseshowsonline.com. The entry link will be live on July 1, 2021. On Saturday September 18, online entries will close and only paper post entries will be accepted. THERE WILL BE A $100 PAPER/POST ENTRY FEE FOR ALL HORSES ENTERED AFTER SEPTEMBER 18. All entry forms must be completed, signed, and accompanied by Credit card info or an open, signed check left in the show office in order for horse numbers to be released at the show. The following fees will be collected IMMEDIATELY when entries are submitted online: 1. Horse Stalls ($300) 2. Office/Admin Fee ($75) 3. 4% Credit Card Processing Fee All horses entering the Kentucky Horse Park grounds for this horse show must comply with current USEF and Kentucky State requirements concerning horse health certificates and vaccination/testing requirements. Please DO NOT send Coggins test certificates with online entries. These documents should accompany the horse. Foreign Exhibitors All show fees must be paid in “US Dollars” via credit card or by Check drawn on a US Bank.
Standard Fees All horses entered in the show will be charged an office/admin fee of $75 at time of entry. This fee covers misc. schooling sessions, medical staffing, ambulance during show hours, traffic personnel, and office processing costs. All horses with stalls on the KHP grounds will be charged a $20 night watch fee and enrolled in the Nightwatch program from Tuesday September 21 thru Sunday September 26 (AM only). 4% Convenience Fee will be charged for all Credit Card transactions. KHP Facility Fee: Beginning in 2016 the Kentucky Horse Park elected to charge all horses, showing and non showing, at each event held at the park a $10 horse facility fee in addition to the rental fees collected from the competition itself. They have requested that the fee not be hidden or absorbed by the event. Therefore, this fee is listed as separate “line item” on the entry form; and is required to be paid by ALL HORSES PRESENT ON THE GROUNDS. It is used by KHP to make direct improvements to the Equine Event facilities. Other misc fees are described beyond this section. All horses and participants entered (except those under an opportunity or exhibition exemption) are required to pay all current USEF/USHJA fees; including non member show passes for exhibitors and horses not currently enrolled. Stalls Horse Stalls will cost $300 for the entire show and will be charged to each horse entered online via the entry portal (horseshowsonline.com). Stalls may be ordered, or CHANGED outside the entry portal by contacting the show organizer directly ONLY. Stall fees are collected IN ADVANCE (when entries are submitted) and are NOT REFUNDABLE AFTER AUGUST 22. Until AUGUST 22, all stall fees paid are fully refundable if WRITTEN NOTICE is given to the show organizer. Both email and regular mail notice shall qualify. Refunds will only be paid via check. No refunds will be issued for Credit Card Processing fees; and no refunds will be issued via Credit Card. STALL MOVE IN DAY IS TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 21 at 9am EST. Early arrivals or horses that layover past Sunday September 26 will be charged $50 per night per stall. THIS IS A CONTRACTUAL FEE FROM THE HORSE PARK AND IS NOT NEGOTIABLE. Please note this fee also applies to Tack/Equipment stalls! IMPORTANT!!!! Trainers and Exhibitors : PLEASE SUBMIT A STALL REQUEST FORM DIRECTLY TO THE SHOW ORGANIZER AT kynathorseshow@aol.com. THIS FORM IS AVAILABLE AT THE END OF THIS DIGITAL PRIZE LIST AND ON THE WEBSITE . IT WILL INSURE THAT YOU RECEIVE THE CORRECT NUMBER OF HORSE AND TACK STALLS RESERVED. EACH HORSE ENTERED WILL HAVE THEIR STALL FEE COLLECTED IMMEDIATELY UPON ENTRY SUBMISSION. IF HORSES ARE STABLED OFF THE GROUNDS AND DO NOT REQUIRE A STALL PLEASE CHANGE THE STALL QUANTITY ON THEIR ENTRY TO ZERO.
TACK STALLS WILL BE BILLED AT THE SHOW AND MAY BE SPLIT TO CLIENT ACCOUNTS IF NOTICE IS GIVEN TO THE SHOW OFFICE NO LATER THAN NOON FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 24. Refund Policy Until August 22, all stall fees paid are fully refundable. Office/Admin fee refunds are , in general, NOT refundable unless special circumstances can be shown. All scratched horses will be charged the $75 office/admin fee. Entry, Nomination, and Ass’n fees are in most cases fully refunded to horses that have not shown; at the show’s discretion. In the event COVID protocols or other national or local disaster forces the show to be cancelled; all fees will be refunded with the exception of the 4% Credit Card Conv. Fee. Day Haulers/Ship In’s/Hack Overs There will be a one time “hack over/day hauler” fee of $45 per horse. YOU MUST COMPLY WITH ALL HORSE PARK RULES FOR DAY HAULERS. Parking is allowed in designated areas ONLY. This fee collected by the show and includes the $30 per horse charged by KHP to the horse show for each day hauler or hack over. When entering a “hackover” or day hauler horse online, please change the stall quantity to ZERO or your Credit Card will be charged for a stall. Schooling/Attire/Headgear Jumping is only allowed when medical personnel are present on the grounds. Protective headgear must be worn by all riders whenever mounted. Headgear for all riders must meet ASTM standards, carry the SEI Tag, and be properly secured by a harness. Hunter rings will be available for schooling the day prior to the show. Schooling schedules will be posted at show office and on social media by 6pm day prior. Dogs Dogs MUST BE ON A LEASH AND UNDER CONTROL AT ALL TIMES. Owners of dogs that disrupt a competitor’s round will be required to pay the affected horse’s entry fee in said class. Dog owners failing to comply with USEF rules regarding dogs may be subject to penalty , warning cards, or expulsion from the show grounds. DOG OWNERS ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGES, CLAIMS, LOSSES OR ACTIONS RESULTING FROM THEIR DOGS BEHAVIORS. Covid 19 All current USEF and CDC Covid protocols will be strictly enforced if in force at the time of the show. Horses that are entered, then scratched, and remain on the grounds will be charged all the aforementioned fees plus an office/admin fee. Jump Order A rotating jump order will be established for all classes over fences. Starters have the authority to scratch entries who are not timely. Courses Courses will be posted at least 30 minutes prior to each class. At management’s discretion a dotted line may be put into effect to restrict the size of the courtesy circle in hunter classes. Poling Manual poling and the use of bamboo offsets is prohibited at all times on the show grounds. Prize Money Prize money won will be credited to each horses account upon checkout. All owners of horses that win over $600 must provide the show with a signed IRS W-9 Form containing the owner’s Tax ID and Current mailing address. Account overages will be mailed to the horses OWNER within 30 days of the show’s conclusion. Alternative addresses must be provided to the office upon checkout. Measurement Cards USEF Measurement cards are required for all divisions with Horse/Pony Height limitations; and must be presented before horse numbers can be released. USEF Stewards will offer at least one measurement session during the show. Photo and Video Rights IT SHALL BE A CONDITION OF ENTRY INTO THIS SHOW THAT THIS COMPETITION, IT’S MANAGEMENT, SPONSORS, AND JUMP PROVIDERS MAY UTILIZE ANY PHOTO OR VIDEO OF ANY EXHIBITOR, OWNER, TRAINER, RIDER
OR HORSE SHOT DURING THE COMPETITION; FOR ANY PURPOSE WHATSOEVER, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO: Advertising, social media, print media, or results publication. Schedule Changes Show management reserves the right to change, cancel, or combine classes; make course alterations and do all things necessary to compensate for excessive or inadequate entries; and/or inclement weather. Show Licensee The USEF Licensee for this horse show is EquiShow Inc., a Tennessee Corporation. Campground/RV Reservations To reserve an RV spot at the KHP Campground please call 800.370.6416. Reservations cannot be made thru the show. Equine Health Information Required: Negative Coggins test within 12 months of entry of entry to grounds Health Certificate signed and dated within 30 days of entry to grounds Documentation of EIV/EHP vaccines within 6 months of entry to grounds PAPERWORK MUST ACCOMPANY THE HORSE! More information on Kentucky requirements can be found at kyagr.com Arrivals Official checkin hours are from 9am until 6pm Tuesday September 21. Horses arriving outside these hours should contact the stall supervisor at least 24 hours ahead. Sharps Management shall place a minimum of one sharps container per 50 occupied stalls in barns housing competition horses. It is the competition management's responsibility to replace said containers when full and dispose of them properly. Competition management may fine any individuals including trainers, owners, exhibitors, or their agents up to $100 for improper disposal of needles or other sharp instruments. If local law has different requirements, local law shall prevail. USEF GOLF CART/MOTORIZED VEHICLE RULE Minors who do not hold a valid driver’s license in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind at USEF shows, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles anywhere on the grounds of USEF licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above mentioned vehicles when accompanied by an adult with a valid drivers license. Violations of this rule will be
cause for sanctions against the parents, guardians, and/or trainers who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent, guardian, and/or trainers from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges filed against any of the above named individuals in accordance with USEF rules. Wheelchair and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule. The parent, guardian, or individual who signs the show entry blank as a parent of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses, or actions resulting from that operation. KENTUCKY HORSE PARK REGULATIONS: 1. There is a $5/day $15/week parking pass fee for each event. No parking is allowed in barn aisles. Empty horse trailers must be dropped in the designated trailer parking lot and NOT dropped in the barn area. 2. All RV’s or Living Quarters horse trailers are required to park at the campground if being used. 3. Horses and horse drawn vehicles have the right of way AT ALL TIMES. 4. The KHP is not responsible for delivery of any mail or packages sent to horse show exhibitors. Check with show/stable office for delivery address. 5. Reduced Park admission is available to event participants and must be obtained at the visitor center. 6. Electrical Equipment: In compliance with the Ky State fire code ; the horse park no longer allows any of the following in Barns, stalls or tents: any 2 prong appliance, any 2 prong extension cords, light duty cords designed for indoor use, or any adaptors without 3 prong connections. 7. Only the following vehicles are approved for use on the Horse Park grounds: golf carts, mopeds, Gators/Mules (NO 4 WHEELERS). Scooters or motor bikes with engine displacement of 50cc or less. Approved vehicles cannot be operated in the tourist areas of the park and must be driven by a licensed driver at least 16 years of age. All vehicles operated after dark must have a headlight and taillight. Use of unauthorized vehicles may result in a citation. 8. Exhibitors wishing to bring their own golf cart onto KHP property must obtain a golf cart license from Cunningham Golf Cars at 859.233.7921. All drivers must be at least 16 years old with a valid drivers license. Carts are not allowed in the tourist area of the park. Hunter Divisions Member Show : World Championship Hunter Rider Series / USHJA Courses to simulate fences found in the hunt field, such as brush, wall, aiken, coop, gate, and post and rail. Classes to be judged on performance and soundness unless otherwise noted. A dotted line may be put into the course to restrict the opening circle. Schooling Area Protocol for Regionals and Finals USHJA Equitation Task Force • Official schooling area will be set one hour before the start of the competition. • Schooling fences will be set as a straight line of oxers across the middle of the official schooling area. • Each jump will have at least four standards, four rails and four cups. • Each jump must be flagged. • Each jump may be set as an oxer. • Each jump may be set as a vertical. • Each jump may be set as a combination (Bounce, One Stride or Two Strides) • Tarps (vinyl panels) and coolers are to be allowed. These may be used on the jump, under the jump or on the ground in front of or behind the jump. If they are used on the ground in front of or behind the jump they must be set on the ground a minimum of 9 feet and a maximum of 21 feet from the jump in either direction. They may not be set in such a way that they interfere with either the approach or landing of another jump. • Straight lines may not be set. • Bending lines may not be set. • All other USEF Schooling Rules for the Equitation section will be enforced.
382 National Horse Show Region 4 ASPCA/NHSAA Maclay Championship The Region 4 ASPCA/NHSAA Maclay Championship is a hunt seat equitation class open to Junior members of the ASPCA who have been certified by the National Horse Show as eligible to compete at the Regional Championship held at the Kentucky National. Entries in this class must enter the class DIRECTLY with THE NATIONAL HORSE SHOW at NHS.org. When doing entries for the main horse show, please enter class #382 (it will show up with a $0 entry fee). Entry Fees for the Regional are paid directly to the National Horse Show. PLEASE REMEMBER TO CHANGE YOUR REGION with NHS if the rider resides outside Region 4 and wishes to participate in the Region 4 Championship. Young Developing Jumpers For your reference; please note the following USEF Jumper Rules pertaining to Young Jumpers: JP117 Sections/Classes Restricted by Age of Horse 1. Eligibility. Age restricted classes are open only to horses recorded with the Federation and age verified in accordance with Federation Policies and Procedures. Age can be verified only through the following identification documents: a. registration papers, Certificate of Pedigree or passport issued by a breed or sport horse registry approved by the Federation. b. Horse Identification Document issued by a breed or sport horse registry approved by the Federation that states the registered name of the horse, the registration number of the horse and age of the horse. 2. Boots: The total maximum weight of equipment allowed to be added to a horse’s leg, front or hind (single or multiple boots, fetlock rings etc.), is 350g (shoe excluded). a. Hind Boots: Non-weighted non-performance enhancing (any boot that does anything but protect the horse’s leg/ankle will be considered performance enhancing) hind ankle boots are permitted for horses entered in classes restricted to Five, Six, or Seven year-olds while in age restricted competition or preparing for the age restricted class. No other hind boots are permitted for horses entered in age restricted classes during those times. All hind leg protections must have a maximum interior length of 16 cm; the width of the fastener must be at least five cm. The following criteria must be respected in relation to hind boots worn in classes restricted by age of horse: 1. The inside of the protection must be smooth, that is, the surface must be even and there may not be any pressure points on the inside of the boot; sheepskin linings are allowed. 2. Only non-elastic Velcro-type fasteners are permitted; no hooks, buckles, clips or other methods of attaching the fasteners may be used; 3. The rounded rigid part of the protection must be placed on the inside of the fetlock; 4. No additional elements may be added to or inserted in the boot itself, other than a protective flap, providing it is soft and clearly intended for protection only. 3. Course Guidelines a. General for all ages: 1. There should be at least two changes of direction, preferably more. 2. The first obstacle should be inviting, not difficult (i.e. no blind corners). 3. Normal distances should be used in related lines, whether straight or bending. 4. The fill must be consistent in each element of the combination. 5. Indoor arenas: Whenever possible, obstacles should not be placed directly on the wall. 6. Certificate of Compliance: A course plan showing the actual heights and spreads of all the fences, signed by the Course Designer and the Senior Judge, must be given to the Senior Steward no later than the conclusion of competition on the same day the class is held to include with his report to the Federation. b. Five Year Old Jumpers 1. All courses must be basic and straight forward. 2. Obstacles should be inviting and not solid, i.e. no solid walls 3. Courses must be set in ascending height and the maximum height cannot be used until the second half of the course. 4. The first fence and the (a) portion of any combination must be set 5cm lower than the height specified for the class. 5. All oxers must be ascending, i.e. ramped before May 1. 6. Combinations may not be used before fence number four.
7. Triple combinations may not be included before July 1. 8. Only one spread obstacle may be included in any combination before July 1. 9. A Liverpool may not be used as part of a combination. 10. When using a Liverpool, the rails must be in the center and on Safety Cups, and the Liverpool must be used as an option. c. Six Year Old Jumpers 1. Courses must be set in ascending height and the maximum fence height cannot be used until the second half of the course before May 1. 2. Triple combinations may only include one spread obstacle before July 1st. 3. Water jumps may not exceed 11’ (3.30m) and must use a rail over the water with a lath on the landing side. Water jumps should be in the second half of the course, and another obstacle must be offered as an option. The rail must be judged and if the lath is to be judged, it must be marked on the course. 4. A Liverpool may be not used as part of a combination. 5. If using Table II, Section 1, courses should always be built as Table II, not Table III. d. Seven Year Old Jumpers 1. If a Liverpool is used in a combination, it may only be used as the first element, and may not be used before May 1. 2. Water jumps may not exceed 12’ (3.60 m) and must use a rail over the water with a lath on the landing side, and another obstacle must be offered as an option before May 1. 4. All entry forms, both electronic and paper, contain the following statement and all participants in the Kentucky National Horse Show shall be bound by these terms: FEDERATION ENTRY AGREEMENT By entering a Federation-licensed Competition and signing this entry blank as the Owner, Lessee, Trainer, Manager, Agent, Coach, Driver, Rider, Handler, Vaulter or Longeur and on behalf of myself and my principals, representatives, employees and agents, I agree that I am subject to the Bylaws and Rules of The United States Equestrian Federation, Inc. (the “Federation”) and the local rules of _the Kentucky National_(Competition). I agree to be bound by the Bylaws and Rules of the Federation and of the competition. I will accept as nal the decision of the Hearing Committee on any question arising under the Rules, and agree to release and hold harmless the competition, the Federation, their officials, directors and employees for any action taken under the Rules. I represent that I am eligible to enter and/or participate under the Rules, and every horse I am entering is eligible as entered. I also agree that as a condition of and in consideration of acceptance of entry, the Federation and/or the Competition may use or assign photographs, videos, audios, cable - casts, broadcasts, internet, lm, new media or other likenesses of me and my horse taken during the course of the competition for the promotion, coverage or benefit of the competition, sport, or the Federation. Those likenesses shall not be used to advertise a product and they may not be used in such a way as to jeopardize amateur status. I hereby expressly and irrevocably waive and release any rights in connection with such use, including any claim to compensation, invasion of privacy, right of publicity, or to misappropriation. The construction and application of Federation rules are governed by the laws of the State of New York, and any action instituted against the Federation must be led in New York State. See GR908.4.
