After a very good first half against Rochdale on Saturday, the Iron certainly had a poorer second period, resulting in a defeat which did our chances at the bottom no good at all. We are sadly rapidly running out of games, but while the mathematics still says so, there is still a chance. Like many of you, I watched bits of the Winter Olympics devoid of spectators and without much atmosphere. I also watched as British hopes kept crumbling until the very end of the Games. Curling is quite a rarefied sport that obviously can’t be done anywhere, as you really need an ice rink. I’m sure the technicalities of the sport have washed over me, but the end results were certainly gripping and I watched nervously as final stones glided down the ice. There wasn’t much else British to cheer about! However, we can cheer on the Iron this evening! Enjoy the game; up the Iron! With all good wishes, Rev Alan. Club Chaplain.
