Made in 1995 by writer/director this film is a thriller set in the Thousand Islands about three teenaged boys, who can't handle the consequences of their own greed when they stumble on a cache of diamonds. Shot in black and white, some consider this film a low-budget masterpiece underscoring the darkness in all of us. On Saturday February 1 starting at 1 p.m., Little Gloria Happy at Last, will be shown in its entirety. This 1982 TV mini-series features well know actors such as Angela Lansbury, Maureen Stapleton, Christopher Plummer and Bette Davis, portions of which were filmed at Fulford Place. The festival will wrap up that evening with “Brockville’s Reel Heritage”, which includes both professional and amateur film footage from the Brockville Museum’s own film archives that show the people, places, and events that have shaped Brockville from the late 1920s through to the early 1980s. Museum staff will introduce each of the presentations and offer some background information. You are free to pick and choose which films you’d like to see. There are no tickets for this event, but since it is a fundraiser all we ask is that you support the museum by putting some money in one of the donation boxes provided. This is a great chance to see the town we love as seen in the movies, so please come to Brockville’s beautiful Arts Centre and watch one, if not all, of these amazing films.
