Newsletter – Term 4 - Week 3 ANNOUNCEMENTS Date Claimer… The Family Fun Night 2020 date has been set!!! February 28 P&C Meeting… Last nights P&C meeting covered a number of topics including the need to create a strategic plan for the overall beautification of Wellers Hill State School and our Sports Support Group presented some exciting ideas to get the ball rolling to provide a fun and welcoming environment for the children. An update on the Weller Road carpark was provided and we can hopefully look forward to a surfaced carpark before Term 1. There were several financial requests and Oisin Grennan was very pleased today when he was advised that the P&C request for assistance to provide 4 Prep swimming lessons this year was approved. Oisin believes that giving the children an introduction to the pool in term 4 will make it easier for them in term 1 next year and a timely water safety program before the summer holidays is a valuable life skill. The Music Support Group sub-committee have been very busy, and they presented a document that outlines the WHSS Music Program and the funding mechanisms that see its continued success and a purchase and replacement schedule for instruments for the next five years. MSG are very active in fundraising and an instrument purchase and replacement schedule for 2019 was approved to ensure a successful start to 2020. Congratulations on your fantastic work!! And finally, but not in the least last, our Amateur Swimming Club - more well known as Wellers Ratz will no longer need to use their outdoor voices on Friday nights with an approval for the purchase of a PA speaker with wireless microphone.
