The Cyclops American Legion Dewey Lowman Post #109 January / February 2018 - Our 84th Year Commander’s Message It's hard to believe the holiday season is now behind us! We had an eventful December with The Department of Maryland Christmas Party, Children's Christmas Party and The Street Survivors Car Show and breakfast! The Street Survivors hold car shows at our post twice a year, and it is always a wonderful time. During the event in December, the group made two very generous donations, one to Dewey Lowman Post 109 and the other to McVets. These donations are greatly appreciated, and will go a long way to improving both organizations, thank you! 2017 has given us the opportunity to make a few improvements, some necessary, and some for the benefit of the post. These improvements are rarely cheap; okay they're never cheap, but with the support A Big Thank You to the Street Survivors of MD of our Legion family, the issues that do arise are not Car Club for their generous donations again this year such a financial drain. To see the smiles on the faces of the little ones faces certainly brought joy to all who attended. As usual Santa was a big hit with the kids. 6. Car Show: The Street Survivors of MD once again donated a @2,000.00 check to McVets. I personally thanked Rick and all the “Street Survivors” at the breakfast when they presented me with the check. Thanks to all the volunteers for taking the time on a Sunday morning and making the breakfast a great success. 7. Department Commander’s Christmas Party: A big shout out to Ron Holcomb (Dept.
