James is delighted to be returning to Elm Shakespeare, and to be part of Rebecca’s production of Love’s Labour’s Lost! Jim has performed at theatres across the United States, including Palm Beach Dramaworks, Maltz Jupiter Theatre, Long Wharf Theatre, American Repertory Theatre, Pittsburgh Public Theatre, Rep of St. Louis, Cleveland Playhouse, Shakespeare & Co., Pioneer Theatre Co., Lyric Stage of Boston, Merrimack Rep, Actors’ Shakespeare Project, and Elm Shakespeare Co., among many others. In NYC he has performed at the Mint Theatre, New York Theatre Workshop and on One Life to Live. He has taught acting, Shakespeare and theatre studies at Yale University, Southern Connecticut State University, Quinnipiac University and the Yale Center for British Art. Jim is the founder and artistic director emeritus of the Elm Shakespeare Company in New Haven, CT. He was the recipient of the 2004 Greater New Haven Arts Council award, and is a fellow of Hopper College at Yale University. Jim lives with his wife Margaret, their cat, Bambi, and dog, Winston, on their boat, currently docked in Branford. Martin Jason Asprey* (Costard). Martin is delighted to join some long-time friends for his first production with Elm Shakespeare Company. Credits include: NYC- The Pearl Theatre Company: Rosmersholm (u/s Kroll/Rosmer). REGIONAL- Company member at Shakespeare & Company for 25 years: The Tempest (Caliban), Cymbeline (Cloten), The Merchant of Venice (Gratiano), Julius Caesar (Cassius), Parasite Drag (Ronnie)-award for Best Actor in the Berkshires by Berkshire Eagle/Berkshire Record, The 39 Steps (Hanney), Macbeth (Macduff), The Winter’s Tale (Autolycus), Hamlet (Hamlet), King Lear (Edgar), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Puck), Romeo and Juliet (Mercutio), and many more. Oldcastle Theatre: Broadway Bound (Jack)-award for Best Supporting Actor by Berkshire Eagle, The Lion in Winter (Geoffrey). Orlando Shakespeare Theater: Julius Caesar (Cassius). He has designed fights for Shakespeare & Co. and The Actor’s Shakespeare Project, and has taught and directed at UMass, Boston College, Skidmore College, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, and M.I.T.
Brianna Bauch (Moth/ Princess of France U/S). Brianna is ecstatic to be back at Edgerton Park for another Elm Shakespeare Company production! She had the pleasure of joining the company of A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Peaseblossom) in 2016, and Much Ado About Nothing (Beatrice) at Southern Connecticut State University in collaboration with Elm Shakespeare in 2017 right before she graduated. Other credits include NYC- Manhattan Repertory Theater: Dear Mama (Mama), The York Theater: First We Dream (Featured Soloist). COLLEGIATE- Polaroid Stories (Persephone), Our Country’s Good (Dabby Bryant), Spelling Bee (Olive Ostrovsky), An Absolute Turkey (Mitzi Soldignac). Additionally, she had the honor of originating the role of Hermia in a Shakespeare adapted musical, A Rockin’ Midsummer Night's Dream and recorded a cast album with Broadway Records. She wants to thank her mother, sister, and fiancé Michael for their forever love and support, “I do love nothing in the world so well as you.” Andrew Borthwick-Leslie (Curate Nathaniel) This is Andrew’s second season with Elm Shakespeare Company. He lives in Brooklyn where he is the co- Artistic Director of the Humanist Project. Credits include REGIONAL – Shakespeare & Co: Julius Caesar (Casca), Hamlet (Guildenstern/Osric). Andrew also directs in NYC where he has worked for his own company, The Shakespeare Forum and Letter of Marque. He has taught acting at Emerson College, Temple University, the University of Maryland, Catholic University and the University of Pennsylvania, among others. He is thrilled and grateful to be back with his friends in New Haven after having so much fun last summer in Romeo and Juliet! Sarah Bowles* (Jaquanetta). This is Sarah’s first season on stage with Elm Shakespeare Company. She works here in New Haven throughout the year as ESC’s Education Program Manager. Credits include- NYC-Prospect Theater Company: The Dome (Missy). York Shakespeare Company: Macbeth (Lady Macduff), Richard II (Queen). Manhattan Shakespeare Project: Twelfth Night (Feste). REGIONAL-American Shakespeare Center: Richard III, (Anne), Much Ado About Nothing (Ursula), Return to the Forbidden Planet (Tanya Hyde). Hudson Shakespeare Company: Julius Caesar (Cassius). Shakespeare in the Valley: The Tempest (Ariel), As You Like It (Charles/Silvius). Sarah is a company member at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, MA where she directed 4 productions for the Fall Festival of Shakespeare. Sarah has taught aerial acrobatics and performed with Circus Warehouse in NYC, holds a BA in Theatre from Marymount Manhattan College, and in 2015 graduated from CUNY with an MA in Applied Theatre.
Gracy Brown* (Boyet). Gracy is happily celebrating her fifth season with Elm Shakespeare Company. Betzabeth Castro (Katherine/Rosaline Understudy). Betzabeth is thrilled to be making her Elm Shakespeare Company debut. She is honored and thrilled to be here! Rachel is a New York-based actress, originally from Minnesota. She received her MFA in Acting from the Brown/Trinity Rep. Consortium in 2017. As an actor, writer, and transgender advocate - Kingston is a modern day renaissance man who revitalizes what it means to be an activist, while working to advance social consciousness. Through his craft of acting, Kingston ignites a universal reminder that the gift of sharing our stories, our deepest truths, are what challenge, transform, and heal our world. Tyler Felson (Forester/Musician, u/s Dumaine). Tyler is thrilled to be making his ESC debut! A recent graduate of Guilford High School in Guilford, CT, he will begin pursuit of a double major in Theatre and Jazz Studies at Northwestern University this fall. He has also recorded dozens of audiobooks with Tantor Media and directed his first film, Odette, last summer. He received his MA in Professional Acting from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in Bristol, UK. Rose-Emma Lambridis (Marcade). This is Rose-Emma's first season with Elm Shakespeare Company. She lives in Brooklyn, NY and is grateful to be a part of this production. REGIONAL - University of New Haven: The Trojan Women (Chorus), A Chorus Line (Vicki), How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (Ensemble), Our Town (Professor Willard) and As You Like It (Rosalind). She is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Theater at the University of New Haven and loves otters. Rose-Emma would like to thank her mom for her unwavering support. Martin Lewis* (King Ferdinand of Navarre). This is Martin’s second season with Elm Shakespeare Company and he is absolutely thrilled to come back and play! An alumni of the New York-based Drama Desk Award-winning TADA! Youth Theater, recent credits include REGIONAL - Miami New Drama: Our Town (George Gibbs). Elm Shakespeare Company: Romeo and Juliet (Paris). Earning his BA in Theater from Marymount Manhattan College and further training from Shakespeare & Company, Martin gained a reputation for usually being the hungriest in any room. This is Patrick's first season with Elm Shakespeare Company. He lives in Great Barrington and when he's not acting, he is directing shows at the Whitney Center for the Arts in Pittsfield and teaching Filmmaking workshops at local schools. He's thrilled to be a part of Elm Shakespeare this season! Lori Vega* (Rosaline). Is excited to be working with Elm Shakespeare for the first time.
