BRADY & JEANNE FOUST Eau Claire, Wisconsin “We love having art in our home and in our lives. The art in our home reflects where we have lived, artists we admire, and a love of diversity of mediums. Naturally, as Geographers, we have numerous landscapes and beautiful old maps. We are lucky in the Chippewa Valley to have so many talented artists and over the years the work of these artists have constituted the core of our collection, along with artists from Kentucky and Minnesota–where we hail from. As we are committed internationalists, we have works that reflect our travels and our hope for a better world. We hope you will enjoy visiting with some of the pieces we love.” - Brady & Jeanne BRADY FOUST Brady Foust joined the UW-Eau Claire faculty in 1971 after finishing his graduate degree at the University of Tennessee. He spent 38 years at UW -Eau Claire, serving as the longtime chair of the geography department, which became nationally known throughout the years. He initiated a strong geographic information system (GIS) program in the department in the early days of GIS software development. Hundreds of his former students have jobs in the GIS industry throughout the country. After his retirement in 2009, Brady was one of three founders of HazardHub, which became a leading provider of geospatial hazard data to the insurance industry. He hired multiple Blugolds at HazardHub because of their GIS expertise acquired as student at UW-Eau Claire and on the job following graduation. HazardHub was acquired by Guidewire Software in 2021. Brady was a member of the Pablo Center Board of Directors. JEANNE FOUST Jeanne Foust has lived in Eau Claire for 21 years. She grew up in Redwood Falls, MN and is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. She had a 30-year career at Esri, the world’s leading GIS software producer, before retiring in 2021. During her final 20 years at Esri, she was responsible for working with international geospatial standards for the company and was a major contributor to organizations such as the International Standards Organization (ISO) and the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC). Her work was essential to the establishment of mapping and earth observation standards; technical interoperability of GIS platforms; and the adoption of data sharing agreements by members of the United Nations. Prior to working for Esri, Jeanne lived in Togo and Nigeria, where she was involved with environmental mapping of the Niger Delta. 4
