About the Role The Technologies Coordinator (Yrs 7 - 12) is a member of the School Executive Team to advance the Purpose, Values and Strategic Intentions of Maitland Christian School in the School's Secondary department. The successful applicant will preferably have the expertise to teach Food Technology to the HSC level and mandatory Technology courses in Stage 4 of schooling. A strategic and relational leader, the Technologies Coordinator, will oversee and empower the High School Technologies staff to further enable the flourishing of the Secondary School in their pursuit of excellence in Christian Education and faith development. They will also contribute to the richness of the School Executive team.
Essential Criteria: A teacher and a leader with a passion for transformational Christian Education integrated into the curriculum and delivered in a framework with an increasing missional focus; A committed Christian actively involved in their local church; An ability to actively subscribe to and promote the foundational beliefs and doctrines of Maitland Christian School Limited; A relational and empowering leader, able to grow staff vision and capacity for Christian Education and skills to relate well to staff, students, parents and the broader community; A collaborative leader, able to collectively draw out the capacity of the Technology team to pursue ongoing excellence and who can interact with the Instructional Coaching Team to effect improved students learning outcomes across the Technologies faculty; A strategic leader who can grow the breadth and impact of Technology in the School; A willingness to learn, grow and be coached as both a teacher and leader; An understanding of Christian Education in the context of a ministry of a local Church;
Essential Criteria cont. The ability to operate in a strengths-based framework and to develop staff and student culture around this framework; Experience in the delivery and leadership of quality teaching practices based on an evidenced-based quality teaching framework with explicit teaching foundations; Well-developed communication, administration and interpersonal skills; A leader with an understanding of the requirements of supporting students with learning diagnoses in a mainstream classroom environment;

Maitland Christian School is excited to be seeking expressions of interest for the role of Head of Technologies (expected to be Coordinator 3) commencing at the start of the 2022 school year. This executive position has come about due to the current staff member moving into a pastoral care role at the School after many years of outstanding service in the teaching of Food Technology. The role is ideally suited to a candidate with the skillset to lead the team, either as an experienced leader or a high performing teacher who is an emerging leader keen to consider their first leadership role.
Salary and Considerations Reasonable relocation costs will be available to assist the right applicant should this be required. Requests for further information should be directed to: jobs@maitlandcs.nsw.edu.au Salary will align with NSW Christian Schools Teaching Staff Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2018-2020, at the successful applicant's level of responsibility and experience. Given the size of the School at present and the supporting leadership structure, a teaching load will form part of the role. Following the close of applications, the School's Selection Committee will consider applications and prepare a shortlist of candidates for interview. The School may move quicker to interview highly suitable applicants. It is expected that at least one round of interviews will be undertaken with the successful applicant appointed to the School staff, commencing duties at the beginning of Term One 2022.
