Against The Wolves they will need to bring even more with the pressure on star Spanish striker Alex Sanchez to rediscover the goal scoring prowess which saw him take the league by storm last season. Jinya An and Nikola Kuleski will be hoping to make a return to the Olympic starting side after performing well coming off the bench last week. The Wolves come into the contest off the back of their third win in four games as they remain undefeated to start the season. However, it’s not all sunny for Wollongong who nearly blew a 4-1 lead last week before clinging on to a 4-3 victory against Sydney FC. They will be without coach Luke Wilkshire for this clash after he was shown a red card for a tirade against the match officials. 1ST GRADE - NPL NSW MEN’S POS TEAM P W D L F A GD PTS 1 Wollongong Wolves FC 4 3 1 0 11 6 5 10 2 APIA Leichhardt Tigers FC 4 3 0 1 6 5 1 9 3 Sydney Olympic FC 4 2 1 1 10 6 4 7 4 Blacktown City FC 4 2 1 1 5 4 1 7 5 Hakoah Sydney City East FC 4 2 0 2 5 3 2 6 6 Manly United FC 4 1 2 1 6 6 0 5 7 Sydney United 58 FC 4 1 2 1 4 5 -1 5 8 Sydney FC 4 1 1 2 6 8 -2 4 9 Mt Druitt Town Rangers FC 4 1 1 2 6 9 -3 4 10 Rockdale City Suns FC 4 1 1 2 2 6 -4 4 11 Marconi Stallions FC 4 1 0 3 4 5 -1 3 12 Sutherland Sharks FC 4 1 0 3 2 4 -2 3 NPLNSW.COM.AU 5
1ST GRADE REVIEWS Hakoah Sydney City East 0 – Sydney Olympic 1 at Hensley Athletic Field Sydney Olympic are back to winning ways with a hard-fought victory at Hensley Athletic Park as they overcame Hakoah Sydney City East to claim a 1-0 victory on Sunday evening. It was the reigning Champions first win of the season after struggling to find their groove in the opening rounds of the NSW National Premier League Men’s competition. Jack Stewart’s 64th minute strike was the only goal in a physical hit-out between the boys in blue with chances at a premium throughout the 90 minutes. The result ended Hakoah’s two game winning run but keeps the Eastern Suburbs side among the top five. Sydney FC 3 – Wollongong Wolves 4 at Lambert Park Wollongong Wolves have held on for a thrilling 4-3 win over Sydney FC at Lambert Park to maintain their lead at the top of the National Premier Leagues NSW Men’s competition. The Wolves raced into an emphatic lead in Leichhardt scoring three goals in thirty minutes as Nick Littler, Lachlan Scott and Thomas James all struck. Sydney FC struck back in the 40th minute thanks to Jordan Swibel but Wollongong retained their three goal lead not long after the resumption of play. A Marco Tilio goal for Sydney FC after 75 minutes gave the young Sky Blues hope of a late comeback and when Jerry Skodatis cut the deficit to one goal in the 87th minute the impossible looked half a chance. It was a nervy conclusion to the clash for Wolves who had coach Luke Wilkshire sent to the stands after seeing red for an outburst at the referee. It proved to be much harder work than they would’ve liked but Wollongong would be more than happy to return home with all three points. 8 #NPLNSW

U20’S MATCH PREVIEW Sydney Olympic are in second place after the first Wollongong, meanwhile, were beaten 4-0 by month of fixtures, and have a game in hand against Sydney FC at Lambert Park, though remain fifth after Mt Druitt. With three wins from their first three winning their first two matches. matches, they could well move above Blacktown City depending on results elsewhere in Round 5. Fittingly for a match so evenly poised, these sides drew 1-1 when they met here last season. Olympic’s latest victory came away at Hakoah Sydney City East, where they won by the odd goal in five.
