Tiled Sculptural System Giles Miller Studio uses their signature techniques to array the tiles in a pre-designed mathematical manner in order to illustrate graphic content. The studio has developed specific techniques which follow the GMS system to manipulate light and shade in order to illustrate these patterns and imagery.
Vivi Centre Point, London The beautifully designed interior of Vivi Restaurant in London’s Centre Point incorporated the studio’s ‘Harper’ tile on the counter front at the main cocktail bar. Stunning interior design from Gordon Young and SAY Architects for Rhubarb.
Union Great Festival of Innovation, Hong Kong The giant Union Flag is composed of hundreds of reflective ceramic ‘pennies‘ which are angled to reflectively manipulate surrounding light, illustrating the tones of the flag as well as creating a kind of interaction in the surface when the viewer moves around it. Union was created for the UK Department of Trade and has been touring the globe following it’s first showcasing at the Asia Society in Hong Kong in 2018.
The Hub Oslo, Norway A unique use of our Alexander tiles, this large- scale installation in this scandinavian hotels’ lobby incorporates a double curve which is executed with a series of fanned strips of surface artwork.
Design Cube Greenwich, London A contemporary Giles Miller Studio tile, the Marsden surface creates a sea of geometry, creating an intriguing feature surface. A luxurious example of residential design the Design Cube project was designed by Amos & Amos and featured ceramic Marsden tiles in a random gradient composition.
Level Shoe District Dubai, UAE Commissioned to create a mural for the Womens VIP area at the Dubai Mall Shoe District, the studio worked alongside interior designers Shed to produce a tailor- made ceramic wall covering featuring tiles arrayed in floral formations in a variety of ceramic finishes.
Yas Mall Abu Dhabi, UAE Commissioned to create a unique surface system incorporating triangular 3-dimensional tiles, the studio produced both mirror and corian-backed surface artworks for the largest handbag store in the world, located in Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi. Our compositions framed stores including Burberry, Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana, Louis Vuitton and Fendi.
