Supreme Scholarship Application for Job’s Daughters International Supreme Guardian Council Supreme Scholarship Application 2020 Subject to availability of funds, Job’s Daughters Scholarships of $750.00 each will be allocated by Job’s Daughters International, Supreme Guardian Council for the year 2020. The purpose of these Scholarships is to aid Job’s Daughters students of outstanding ability who have a sincerity of purpose. High school seniors or graduates, junior college, technical school or college students and students who are in early graduation programs who are Job’s Daughters in good standing in their Bethel, or will be at the time of Majority, may apply for these scholarships. Eligibility requirements for scholarships is found in SOP-SGC-17, Scholarships. Deadline for application: Clearly postmarked on or before April 30, 2020. QUALIFICATIONS – SUPREME GUARDIAN COUNCIL SCHOLARSHIP 1. Members of Job’s Daughters and Majority Members pursuant to the law, to qualify for the scholarships shall make an application on the regular application forms to the Chairman of the Educational Committee. 2. The Executive Members of the Bethel Guardian Council of the applicant’s Bethel should use discretion in recommending Bethel members on EDS-Form #4. 3. Applicants shall be finally judged by the committee and the Scholarship Committee and all applicants will be notified before Supreme Session. The factors to be evaluated in awarding the scholarships shall be: a. Scholarship Standing b. Job’s Daughters Activities c. Executive Bethel Guardian Council Recommendations d. School (faculty) Recommendation e. Activities outside of Job’s Daughters QUALIFICATIONS – SUSIE HOLMES MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP The Susie Holmes Memorial Scholarship of $1,500.00 is awarded to a member of Job’s Daughters. The factors to be evaluated in awarding the Holmes Memorial Scholarship shall be: 1. A high school graduate with a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0 2. Dedicated, continuous and joyful service to Job’s Daughters 3. Regular attendance at Supreme and/or Grand Sessions and participation in competitions at Supreme. 4. A Daughter who promotes friendship and impartiality in her Bethel and exhibits good character and integrity 5. A Majority Member currently installed in an office If you are applying for this scholarship, please check the appropriate box on the top of the application. QUALIFICATIONS - T&T HIKE SCHOLARSHIP The T&T HIKE Scholarship of $1,000.00 is awarded to a Majority Member of Job’s Daughter using the same qualifications as the Supreme Guardian Council Scholarship listed above, with the additional requirement: ● A Majority Member entering her junior or higher year of college in Audiology, Speech Pathology or Deaf Education.
Supreme Scholarship Application for Job’s Daughters International Supreme Guardian Council INSTRUCTIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS All forms sent by you must be completely filled out and signed before mailing to the Chairman of the Educational Scholarship Committee. Type or print clearly in black ink. These forms must be duplicated and colors do not reproduce well. All forms must be clearly postmarked on or before April 30, 2020. Applications postmarked after the April 30, 2020 deadline will be disqualified. NOTE - When the word College is used it shall mean College or University. EDS-Form #1 – BE SURE TO ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS. Have the necessary signatures or reason for omission on the bottom of the form. EDS-Form #2 – This is your personal letter to the committee. Please give reasons for your application And your future prospects. You may attach another sheet if insufficient space is provided. Do not forget to sign your name on the bottom of the form. EDS-Form #3 – This form (two (2) parts) is to be sent to a Principal, Dean, Instructor, or Counselor who should complete the form and give any additional information. (Duplicate form if additional forms are needed). The Principal, Dean, Instructor, or Counselor should then send the completed form to the Chairman of the Scholarship Committee. PLEASE NOTE: Applicants in college need only submit college transcripts with all grades included. Form #4 – This form is to be completed in every detail and signed by the Guardian of the Bethel. Attached to the form should be a letter of recommendation signed by ALL Executive members of the Bethel Guardian Council or include a reason for omission. The seal of the Bethel should be on the place shown. RESPONSIBILITY OF THE APPLICANT It is your responsibility to submit one copy of EDS-Forms #1, 2, and 4 to the Chairman of the Educational Scholarships Committee, clearly postmarked on or before April 30, 2020. EDS-Form #3 – Parts 1 & 2 must be sent to your Principal, Dean, Instructor, or Counselor. Check EDS-Form #3 for complete instructions. If you want confirmation that your application was received by the chairman, please send a note along with your application indicating that you would like an email confirmation.
