BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Dear Neighbors, Although it may be hard to see past the cold weather and snow this spring, summer is right around the corner. With the warmer weather coming, our programming will include outdoor events to encourage gatherings at local parks and shelters. Summer concerts at Floral Park will showcase a new band each Sunday beginning in the middle of June through August, with a variety of music for the whole community to enjoy. IPRA/IAPD COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARDS Go GREEN At the Deerfield Park District Board of Commissioners Meeting on Thursday, March 17, Illinois Park and Recreation Association/ Illinois Association of Park District Community Service Awards were presented to local volunteers Amy Brodsky, Jason Wadler and Family, Sarah Kettlewell, Lorraine Jette, Leo Carter and Sid Moore, who have given their time, talent and treasure to the Deerfield Park District. These awards are “In recognition and appreciation of outstanding contributions and unselfish devotion for the advancement of parks, recreation and leisure in the community and the state of Illinois.” Dr. Amy Brodsky and her Foundation generously donated over $30,000 to the park district for the purchase and installation of shade structures at the Preschool Playground at Jewett Park and towards shade structures to be installed at the Deerspring Sprayground’s scheduled to open this summer. PERMITS & SHELTER RENTALS Brickyards Jaycee Jewett PARK PERMITS Reserve one of our beautiful parks and enjoy full access to playgrounds, shelters and other amenities. • Rates apply to individuals, non-profits and Maplewood Woodland corporate groups. • One permit is valid for a four-hour reservation.
