What is LEAP? Formerly known as "Kids Adventure" this program has grown into much more! LEAP now applies to all youth classes through parks and rec that are held after school as well as in the summer! Our newest addition to LEAP is our half day program specifically for Shaker Lane and Russell St. where we provide classes or a field trip on half days! Summer LEAP operates out of the Littleton Middle School between the hours of 9am and 4pm. We offer a variety of classes in both morning, afternoon, or full day options. we have something for everyone! Each class is operated by one of our Community Education instructors and is a unique experience! We have a Lead staff member on site from the morning until 1pm to operate check in and check out for each class. The afternoon classes operate check out via the instructor. 2
LEAP STAFF Rachele Carbutt Community Ed. and Teen Programs Coordinator Rachele Carbutt is a 2017 graduate of Mount Holyoke College where she majored in Environmental Studies. She joined Littleton Parks, Rec and Community Education as the Community Ed. and Teen Programs Coordinator in January 2018. Rachele has 8 years of experience in Environmental Enrichment and Canoeing Education through a local summer camp, she also has a Level 3 American Canoe Association instructor certification. She enjoys outdoor activities such as white water canoeing, hiking, camping, and being outside! Alyssa Marrese LEAP Lead Counselor Alyssa is a senior at Littleton High School and is planning on attending the University of Central Florida to focus on hospitality management. She is a huge Disney fan and traveling is her favourite thing to do. She also likes listening to music, playing games, and hanging out with friends! 3

Voice Over Lau Lapides Do you people say you have a great voice for radio or animation? Do you love the voices of your favorite cartoon characters, commercials and television shows? If you’re curious 7/6/20 about the world of voice over come join our fast-paced fun, interactive, fast-paced workshop full of tips and techniques 9am-12pm designed to offer you an introduction to the exploding world of $100 Res $110 NonRes voice over! Learn how to warm-up your voice and speech, breathe properly, articulate, learn different accents, and Middle School interpret a script (copy) with ease! Learn how to create credible characters, and make a voice over demo! Business Sharks Right Brain Curriculum In our Business Sharks class, students play the role of young entrepreneurs as they start with the germ of an idea for a business and product and take it through the entire entrepreneurial process. Our Grades 2-5 students develop prototypes, formulate a business 7/6/20-7/10/20 plan and devise a marketing strategy. Meanwhile, 9am-11am M-Th students learn through contextual lessons on 9am-10am Fri concepts such as wages, profits and branding while $210 Res $220 NonRes designing print ads, acting out “TV commercials,” researching real estate locations and designing their Middle School storefronts. The class concludes with our young executives pitching their ideas to a "Shark Tank" SU20YBS19 panel of parents. These young entrepreneurs will really be taking care of business! Crazy Chemworks Mad Science Shake up a flask of fun in the lab as a junior chemist! These five half-days of chemistry are packed solid with cool reactions. Children Ages 6-10 put on some goggles and change liquid to 7/6/20-7/10/20 solid and back again. They get to handle 9am-12pm laboratory tools, build and break molecules, $235 Res $245 NonRes and pick up some tricks on chemical Middle School changes. Chinese Language and Culture Club Global Child 1- Learn a new culture. Apart from the language linguistic skills that they will acquire, they will forge a better understanding of a new aspect of culture of a Grades K-6 particular Chinese speaking country/region. 7/13/20-7/17/20 National holidays, celebrations (birthday, 10am-12pm wedding,etc). 2- Keep active. Mask Making Kristin Hemmis In this class student artists will explore Grades 3-6 masks from around the world. They will 7/13/20-7/17/20 learn how and why different cultures have 9am-12pm created masks through out history. Underground Explorers Mad Science This program is designed for future palaeontologist and Archaeologists! Learn about dinosaur fossils and create your own Ages 6-10 dino-castings. Littleton On Stage Summer Intensive Theater Tess Degen Come join us for a Theater Summer Intensive at Littleton Grades 1-3 Parks And Rec. This two week program will immerse your 7/20/20-7/31/20 elementary and middle schooler into the world of the theater 9am-12pm and the skills of the actor. Morning classes will include $500 Res $510 NonRes Voice, Singing, Dance, Improv and Acting classes and the afternoon is spent in rehearsal for a final performance for Middle School family and friends on the last day of the program. Circuit Makers 101 Circuit Lab Staff Let’s get creative with electricity! In this junior hands-on electronics class, students will gain experience with creating their own electronics; Grades 1-3 8/3/20-8/7/20 designing custom light-up greeting cards, 9am-12pm electric games, mazes, and even musical $294 Res $304 NonRes instruments. Each class day consists of a circuitry lesson and a hands-on electronics Middle School project, using components like lights, buzzers, switches, motors, and sensors. Hands on Electronics Circuit Lab Tinker with electronics while learning the basics of computer programming. We begin by experimenting with the fundamentals of electronics and circuitry, and step up to Grades 4-7 projects where our class of young makers will 8/3/20-8/7/20 design their own interactive and programmable 1pm-4pm devices. Participants use the latest tools $294 Res $304 NonRes including Arduino (for building interactive devices) and Raspberry Pi (for learning about Middle School computers and coding) to experiment with SU20YE19 LEDs, resistors, motors, and programming. To register online for a class/program: Create an account on MyRec (register all family members who will be participating programs) *Remember your user name/password for easy access and registration for future programs. Find the program you're looking for, and follow the prompts to register & pay! *Before you register, please take a minute to review our policies for Refunds, Cancellations, and Transfers listed below. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover (There is a $10.00 minimum credit card charge) Please not there is a 2.9% fee on all credit card transactions. We also accept check and cash payments Please review our refund policy BEFORE you register to avoid confusion and disappointment. Refund Policy Because our programming is 100% funded by course fees, our refund policies are strictly adhered to: In the event that your course is cancelled due to low enrollment you will receive a full refund. Pro-rated refunds will only be given if a cancelled class cannot be rescheduled. In the case of a medical withdrawal, a refund minus a 10% administration fee will be processed when accompanied by a doctor’s note. Any other withdrawal fees will be determined by the PRCE Director and accompanied by a 20% processing fee. Refunds will only be given via household credit, check, and credit card. Credit Card refunds will be processed within 5 to 7 business days. Refunds issues by check will be processed within 2 to 4 weeks. Parks, Recreation, & Community Education reserves the right to change the program location and/ or staff if needed. Refunds will not be given if this occurs. You must respond to the cancellation emaill within 30 days to request your refund. Otherwise, we will process the refund as a household credit. Cancellations Parks, Recreation & Community Education reserves the right to cancel and/or combine any program with insufficient enrollment within 7 Days prior to the class’s start date. All participants will be notified of changes in schedule. Please be sure to provide an up to date email and phone number so that we can contact you. When public schools are closed for either school/Town events or due to inclement weather, programs will not be held on that day. Classes will be rescheduled at a later date. Classes will not be on legal holidays. Transfer Policy You may request to transfer into another class If: The request is made before the 2nd meeting of the class. There is space available on the roster for the class that you would like to transfer into. The minimum participation number is still met for the class you are currently enrolled in. A $15.00 transfer fee is paid in full. 27
