Phase 2 - Discovery
During the second week you’ll be staying at Winchester
University Halls within Hampshire. This week is based closer
to your local community. Individuals and their teams will face
the initial challenge of staying in accommodation whilst
budgeting and catering for themselves – a real taste of
independence. During this week your team will undertake a
number of different workshops in order to learn new skills
that may help with your social action project. These
workshops could be based on the following:

- Media
- Ballroom Dancing
- Sports Coaching
- Personal Development
  Skills
- Food Tech & Cooking
- Game Design
Phase 3 - Action

During week 3 you will plan
and fundraise for your social
action. Your leaders will be on
hand to help, but it is up to the
teams themselves to decide
what to do, plan how to do it
and present the idea to a
panel of experts (Dragon’s
Den style). Once your team’s
idea has been given the go
ahead, you will be supported
to help develop the skills
required to execute your
social action project. Example
projects include:

- Regenerating Gardens
- Quiz Nights
- Decorating a Children's
  Home
- Renovating Care Homes
- Sponsored Walks

The delivery part of this week
for your social action project
is when you put your plan into
action. Gardening, recording,
painting, decorating, building,
and much much more. This is
the part where you make a
real difference.
                                    * 4 Week Module*

week model, you will have a
                                    full week dedicated to the
                                    planning of your social
action, followed by a week of
                                    delivery.
Graduation
Once the hard part is all over
you’ll be invited back to your
graduation in November (possible
venue The Anvil Theatre,
Basingstoke) to celebrate your
achievements with your
fellow graduates . You’ll
receive a signed certificate
from The Prime Minister
and a free memorabilia
book full of photos and
memories from the
summer. It will be a
celebration where you will
be entertained and have
many videos and photos
showcasing your NCS
experience.
