6 Dear freshmen! We call freshmen Erstis in German, which is an ‚affectionate‘ term for first semester students. As members of the ErstiWoche (First-Week-Events) orga- nization team and tutors for freshmen, we are pleased to welcome you at the TU Ilmenau, and to accompanying you into the everyday life of the university. In addition to the information events at the university, you can expect numerous events and activities during the Ersti- Woche organized by us, students who are already studying here. These activities will ease your start of studying in Ilme- nau. Whether at the daily breakfast or during the city rallye, where you will get to know your new home with a lot of fun, it will never be boring. The ErstiWoche is a great opportunity to meet other students and to get to know each other. Together with your tutors and your seminar group you will discover life on campus and in Ilmenau. You can find our program on the following web- site www.erstiwoche.de. We are looking forward to see you at the Welcome Barbecue in Ilmenau on Sunday, October 4, 2020. Yours Martin und Kai
