GENERAL RULES FOR TEACHERS • Please make sure that all information is filled out correctly. • When doing a school project, please have a typed class list with each student’s full name and age stapled to the entry form. If all students are doing the same division & class use one school entry form. Fill out the teacher’s name and school address information. Fill in the division & class number and a brief description of the items. Then attach your typed division roster with the name and age of each student. If each student is doing a different project use another entry form and fill out a new division & class number with a brief description and attach the typed class list to the entry form. • Spray Glue does not stay on in the building with the temperature changes. • If Artwork is falling or won’t stay together, we will use staples to hold the Artwork together for display. • Saw tooth hooks are not allowed, tape will not be accepted, and Canvas paintings not framed must have a wire screwed into the frame. • If the students have construction Artwork, it must have holes punched on both top edges and string or ribbon attached so it can be hung, or it may be stapled to a wall. • A border around each construction paper is preferred. • We are limited in our glass cases so please make sure you call ahead and talk to Julia Heavner the Competitive Entries Manager at 762-9106 to find out if a glass case is available. • Due to the family atmosphere of the Fair, Artwork deemed inappropriate or containing nudity will not be accepted. • The Pima County Fair and its agents assume no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to any Artwork during the periods of receiving, displaying, releasing, or storing. Every precaution will be taken to guard against such loss or damage. • All Artwork previously submitted to the Pima County Fair is prohibited. • Entries cannot exceed 36 inches in any dimension or weigh more than 50 pounds. • Judging is closed to the public and all judging is final. All judges are chosen for their highest qualifications in their field of teaching. They are asked not to judge on individual likes or dislikes but have standard rules and regulations to judge by. Items are judged before the final display. Judging is based on the degree of difficulty, choice of material used, creativity and mistakes corrected. • Premiums/Cash prizes will be paid to the Teacher/Student during the Fair or releasing of Artwork. • All entries not picked up by May 13, 2022, will be donated to charity. 2
AWARDS AND RIBBONS 1st Blue Ribbon 2nd Red Ribbon 3rd White Ribbon Best of Class Best of Show People’s Choice Premiums / Cash prizes WILL BE AWARDED to the Best of Class, Best of Show and People’s Choice. Entries with more than 15 will be judged as a class. Judges are instructed not to award ribbons unless the entry is deemed worthy. The Danish system of judging will be used, and each entry will be judged on its own merit rather than in competition. It is the responsibility of the teacher(s) to collect any award vouchers from the Entries reception desk and cash them at the Fair Office Cashier Window as soon as they are issued. VOUCHER’S WILL NOT BE CASHED AFTER NOON ON TUESDAY April 26, 2022. After all entries have been judged a small sticker in the shape of a ribbon is placed on the Entry Tag to show off the beautiful Artwork from our students. All ribbons except Best of Class, Best of Show and People’s Choice will be placed on Artwork all other ribbons will be given out on releasing days, (see entry form for dates) 3

Under the Sea Contest Let the FUN Begin!! PIMA COUNTY FAIR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS “Wild About Our Students’’ Art Program this year’s Theme is “Under the Sea”– Teachers can enter their student’s artwork by downloading and printing an entry form or entering online at www.pimacountyfair.com under (Premium Book). All student’s entries will be displayed in Old Pueblo Hall Conference and Event Center at the Pima County Fairgrounds. For more information, contact the Competitive Entries manager, Julia Casillas at 520-762-9106 or email at julia@pimacountyfair.com. Under the Sea Contest, encourage your students of all ages to paint, draw or craft creativity. Deadline on all Art Entries is March 10, 2022. Farmer Jon’s Learning Center – Located in Old Pueblo Hall Conference and Event Center. Appropriate for all ages. Children can pick “fruits and vegetables” on the Farm, “milk” Maggie the cow, climb on the tractor, explore the live worms composting bin, touch homegrown Cotton, admire homegrown Sunflowers, and feel Sheep wool. Enjoy live baby chicks and peak at our seed wagon to discover what agriculture looks like in the field. The center provides the opportunity to experience Agriculture in an educational and fun experience. 4-H and Animal barns - Learn about Agriculture and Animal husbandry.
